| Background: Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia is very common in school-aged children and adolescents, which accounts for appro ximately 10-30% of all community acquired pneumonia. But the clinical manifestation and radiological manifestation varies a lot.Pathogen invading and the overwhelming immune response are both important factors in the pathogenesis of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. Objective: The main goal of this study is to investigate the relationship between the severity of clinical manifestations, radiological manifestations and the quantitative value of Real-time PCR of mycoplasma pneumoniae,to assess the severity of his disease. Then to investigate the relationship between the clinical and radiological manifestation and the quantitative value and inflammation. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 570 hospitalized patients diagnosed as mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia to investigate the relationship between the quantitative value of Real-time PCR of mycoplasma pneumoniae and patient’s sex, age, fever duration, fever pattern, tachypnea, wheezing, atelectasis, pleural effus ion and mechanical ventilation treatment. Then the subjects were divided into two groups according to whether they were treated with macrolide antibiotics,to investigate the relationship between the c linical and radiological manifestation and the quantitative value and inflammationafter making sure they were in homogeneity. Results: The severity of clinical manifestations, radiological manifestations in mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia was significantly associated with fever pattern(P <0.05)in univariate and multiple stepwise regression analys is,that means only fever pattern was identified as significant factors to predict the severity of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. And the clinical and radiological manifestations of mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia was associated with the quantitative value and inflammation. Conclusion: Our finding indicated that there was statistical significance between the quantitative value of Real-time PCR of mycoplasma pneumoniae and fever pattern.Except for the macrolide antibiotic treatment,we should also pay attention to the overwhelming immune response during the process of pathological les ion in Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia. |
