Objective:To evaluate the value of three-dimensional speckle tracking imaging(3D-STI)for left ventricular strain in Patients with Diabetes mellitus(DM)with Meta analysis. Methods:Published studies comparing the left ventricular strain assessed by 3D-STI of DM patients and controls were searched before February fourteen,2017.Crude weighted mean differences(WMD)with 95% confidence intervals(CIs)were used to analysis. Results:A total of 13 articles were included in this study, including 8 Chinese studies and 5 foreign studies, with 778 diabetes mellitus patients and 537 healthy controls.Meta-analysis revealed that the left ventricular ejection fraction(2DLVEF)in diabetic mellitus patients was lower than that of the control group(2DLVEF: WMD=-0.68,95%CI=[-1.57,0.21],P>0.05),which,however,showed no significant difference while left ventricular global longitudinal strain(GLS),global radial strain(GRS),global circumferential strain(GCS)and global area strain(GAS)were significantly impaired in the patients with DM compared to the controls(GLS: WMD=3.43,95%CI=[2.68,4.17],P<0.01;GRS: WMD=-2.78,95%CI=[-3.91,-1.65],P<0.01;GCS: WMD=1.76,95%CI=[1.24,2.29],P<0.01;GAS: WMD=3.52,95%CI=[2.56,4.48],P<0.01).Conclusion:3D-STI technique can be used to evaluate the left ventricular systolic function of diabetic patients at an early stage, while GLS and GAS can be regarded as more sensitive indicators.
