Facial Profile Aesthetics Study Of Skeletal Class ? Patients Treated By Orthodontic Camouflage And The Chinese Beauty

Objective: To investigate changes of facial profile aesthetics of skeletal class ? patients after orthodontic camouflage and the difference of facial profile aesthetics between posttreatment patients and the Chinese beauty.To analyse and screen out the indexes closely related to the facial profile aesthetics of skeletal class ? patients.Methods: Collecting 60 skeletal class ? patients who have finished their orthodontic camouflage and 60 Chinese beautiful stars.The pretherapy and post-treatment facial profile images of patients and the facial profile images of stars were graded by orthodontists.Comparing the grades of patients in pretherapy and post-treatment.Comparing the grades of post-treatment patients and the stars.Comparing the hard tissue indexes of patients in pretherapy and post-treatment.To evaluate the correlation between the hard tissue indexes and the grades of the patients by Pearson correlation.Screening out the hard tissue indexes closely related to the facial profile aesthetics of skeletal class ? patients by multiple linear stepwise regression analysis.Comparing the soft tissue indexes of patients in pretherapy and post-treatment.To evaluate the correlation between the soft tissue indexes and the grades of the patients by Pearson correlation.Screening out the soft tissue indexes closely related to the facial profile aesthetics of skeletal class ? patients by multiple linear stepwise regression analysis.Comparing the grades and soft tissue indexes of the post-treatment patients and the stars,both with good grades.To evaluate the correlation between the soft tissue indexes and the grades of the post-treatment patients and the stars by Pearson correlation.Screening out the indexes closely related to the facial profile aesthetics of skeletal class ? patients and the stars by multiple linear stepwise regression analysis.Results: The post-treatment grade of the patients(5.77±1.27)is significantly higher than the pre-treatment grade of the patients(3.22±1.25).The grade of the stars(7.98±0.89)is significantly higher than the post-treatment grade of the patients.13 indexes including ANB angle of patients are significantly different from those before treatment(P<0.05).U1-NA length and U1-APog length are strongly correlated to the grades of the patients.U1-APog length is closely related to the facial profile aesthetics of skeletal class ? patients.16 indexes including G-Prn-Pos angle of patients are significantly different from those before treatment(P<0.05).ULA-E length,LLA-E length,LLA-SnPos length,LLA-H length and H angle are strongly correlated to the grades of the patients.ULA-E length and LLA-E length are closely related to the facial profile aesthetics of skeletal class ? patients.Grades and 11 indexes including G-Prn-Pos of high-score patients are significantly different from the high-score stars'(P<0.01).G-Sn-Pos angle,H-NsPos angle,ULA-E length,LLA-E length,LLA-SnPog length and LLA-H length are strongly correlated to the grades of the post-treatment patients and the stars.LLA-E length and GSn-Pos angle are closely related to the facial profile aesthetics.Conclusions: Orthodontic camouflage treatment can improve the facial profile aesthetics of the skeletal class ? patients.The facial profile aesthetics of the skeletal class ? patients who have finished their orthodontic camouflage is significantly lower than the beautiful stars.U1-APog length,ULA-E length,LLA-E length and G-Sn-Pos angle are closely related to the facial profile aesthetics of skeletal class ? patients.
