Objective:1.To find the expression difference among the silhouette,black andwhite photo,and colour photo in profile evaluation of aesthetics,then choosethe best one for further experiments.2.Predict and aesthetic assess the facial profile on postoperativeorthognathic surgery, find the most beautiful profile through ratingscale,then give advice for surgery.3.Measuring the side skull X ray of the most beautiful profile usingthe Winceph8.0software,and compare with the normal people.Methods:1.Choose10women patients with good prlfile as experimentalgroup,2women patients without good profile as control from orthodonticof ChongQing medical university affiliated stomatological hospitalorthodontic in2009-2010.They were not accepted dental treatment at all,noabsent of teeth,age range for13to15years old.Make the12NHP photos as the same size, and the same colour usingthe Photoshop CS4and Meituxiuxiu software, dividing into silhouettegroup,black and white photo group,and colour photo group. Invide specialists(50orthodontists)and undergraduates(250Medical Universityof CHONGQING undergraduates)to rate the photos, then using SPSS13.0package Wilcoxon rank to inspect the difference of consistency andbeautiful degree,then select one for further experiment.2.One case of pre-orthognathic surgery of the patient withclarifyadiagnosis of “The development of maxillary deficiency andmandibular excessive” skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion was selected fromorthodontic of ChongQing medical university affiliated stomatologicalhospital orthodontic in2009-2011. Simulate orthognathic surgery designproposal through Photoshop CS4software,composite processing the facialprofile photography using preoperative photography and lateralcephalometric radiograph to produce the first standard facial profilephotography P1. The maxillary hard tissue move forward according toAndrews theory Ⅱ, and soft tissue also move by the proportion untilmandibular recess the normal position to the Chinese G-Sn-Pog’angle.Thenmoving the mandibular forward and back±1,±2,±3,±5,±7mm, generate20facial profile photography. Two groups of raters was chosen:specialists(orthodontists50),undergraduates(MedicalUniversityofCHONGQINGundergraduates,250),The subjects were asked to rank the21randomprofile photographis in descending order,compare the difference of thescore of all21photos and the effect of speciality on the ratings analyzed byWilcoxon rank sum test with SPSS13.0.3.Measuring the side skull X ray of the most beautiful profile usingthe Winceph8.0software,and compare with the normal people. Results:1.Compare the specialists to undergraduates, the beautiful degree ofsilhouette group,black and white photo group,and colour photo group isgeneral,no statistically significant,but the consistency of colour group isbest.Compare among the silhouette group,black and white photo group,andcolour photo group, the beautiful degree and the consistency of thespecialists are best,the former statistically significant.2.The differences in rank scores among21profile types weresignificant(P <0.05).The picture D3is determined the most beautiful,thenD2、D1、B1、A1、P1、C1、A2、B2follow, the pictures C4、A5、B5、C5are not acceptable. Comparing the two groups,the difference was notstatistically significant(P>0.05).3.The mearments of the side skull X-ray of P1and D3showⅡtypes ofrelationship,and the mentum of D3recess little on the foundation of P1.Conclusion:1.The beautiful degree of silhouette group, black and white photogroup, and colour photo group have no statistically significantdifference,but the consistency of colour group is best.Accordingly,selecting colour photo into next experiment.2.The profile of skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion patient changesgreatly after accepting the orthodontic-orthognathic treatment. Theharmonious relationship of nose-lip-chin changes greatly along with theretraction of mandibular and chin. The estimators give different commentson the21pictures. Straight profile is most beautiful, the profile ofmandibular or chin recess little is second, but when they recess or advanceseriously, the profile is not acceptable. 3.The profile of skeletal Class Ⅲ malocclusion patient maybe have“over correction”.
