Ruikang Cai All-day Comprehensive Therapy For Children With Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a skin acquired chronic pigmentation disorder with the prevalence rate of about 0.5%-2% of the general population which is characterized by the loss of epidermal melanoma cells.At present,the incidence of vitiligo disease has shown a trend of development of the younger age.The changing appearance of the children not only bring torture and pain to the patients' body,but also have a great impact on the mental health of children,and even change their lives.In recent years,the clinical incidence of children is on the rise,but no breakthrough happens in the current treatment of vitiligo,including light therapy,immunosuppression drugs,steroid drugs,calcineurin,melanoma cell transplantation and other therapies.So far there is no ideal and safe drugs for children and adolescents.Related reports are limited and there is a lack of a comprehensive clinical summary.Professor Cai Ruikang has been studying and accumulating the experience in the treatment of vitiligo for decades to explore a set of treatment for children with vitiligo: All-day comprehensive treatment.This method is a combination of internal and external treatment and of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in one.According to Professor Cai Ruikang,the program standardized treatment include Chinese medicine decoction specially designed for children,oral trace Elements,PUVA treatment for day and night.The aim of this study is to study the clinical efficacy and safety of Cai Ruikang's all-day comprehensive therapy for children with vitiligo through clinical observation,and to summarize Professor Cai Ruikang's experience in treating vitiligo in children.The thesis includes literature review and clinical research in two parts.Literature review reviewed the knowledge and treatment of vitiligo in western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.Clinical research: Objective: To study the curative effect of all-day comprehensive therapy and compare with the results of the control group,and finally summarize Professor Cai Ruikang's experience in the treatment of children's vitiligo with all-day comprehensive therapy.Methods: 226 patients were divided into two groups.The experimental group was treated with Chinese medicine decoction,oral trace element and UVA therapy.The control group had only oral trace elements and UVA therapy.Each group of patients select the location of the designated lesion to observe the treatment effects according to the efficacy of standard efficacy evaluation every 2 months for a course of treatment and a total of 3 courses of treatment.Results: After treatment for 3 courses,the total effective rate of the all-weather therapy was 79.3% and the cure rate was 15.4%,which was significantly higher than the control group.The results were statistically significant(p < 0.05).Conclusion: All-day comprehensive therapy is better than non-taking traditional Chinese medicine decoction therapy.All-day comprehensive therapy with the usage of oral Chinese medicine,trace elements,vitamins and PUVA photochemical therapy in children with vitiligo has a good clinical effect.
