Research ObjectiveThe characteristics of TCM syndrome in patients with heart failure in different age stages were investigated and analyzed to provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of heart failure in traditional Chinese medicine.MeasureThis study applied clinical epidemiological research methods to conduct aclinical epidemiological survey of TCM syndromes in patients with heart failure in Chengdu. The research subjects were mainly from the Emergency Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM and the inpatients of the Department of Cardiology.Within the date range of December 2014 of April 2014,the eligible subjects were screened according to the diagnostic criteria and the inclusion criteria.A tailored “case screening table for epidemiological investigations of TCM syndromes of heart failure” was used to retrospectively investigate the status of patients when they were admitted to the hospital through the inclusion of inpatient medical records of the subjects and complete the collection of data. The patient's questionnaire will be reviewed, computer data entry will be performed on the questionnaires for the qualified cases, and the input method of double input and output will be used to ensure the accuracy of data entry, build a database of syndromes and causes of heart failure, and use the database. The statistical analysis software manages and processes the data, and then statisticallyanalyzes the TCM syndromes of heart failure at different ages. The main statistical analysis methods include descriptive statistical analysis and chi-square test.Result1.The male to female ratio of CHF patients was 1:1.12;the average age of onset was 68.58±8.088.The male and female patients were mostly 75 to 80 years old. Before the age of 60,the male incidence rate was higher than that of females.After60 years, the females were higher than males. There was no significant difference in gender between different age groups(P<0.05).2.There were 278 cases(77.22%)of coronary heart disease and 179 cases(47.72%)of coronary heart disease in the distribution of basic diseases of CHF patients. There was a statistically significant difference in the distribution of the two groups at different ages(P<0.05).3.The frequency and frequency of the occurrence of syndromes in 360 patients with heart failure were as follows: 327 cases(90.83%)of qi deficiency syndrome,201 cases(55.83%)of blood stasis syndrome,145(40.27%)of water drinking syndrome, and phlegm syndrome.129 cases(35.83%)and 118 cases of Yang deficiency(32.78%).There was a statistically significant difference in the distribution of syndromes at different ages(P<0.01).4.The patients with chronic heart failure in the age group of 4,50--64 years old had chronic heart failure with syndromes of Qi deficiency and blood stasis, and the age group of 65-74 years with qi deficiency, blood stasis, water drinking and turbidity, and the 75-80 age group. With qi deficiency blood stasis and Yang virtual water drink.Conclusion(1)TCM syndromes of patients with chronic heart failure were mostly qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome;followed by water drinking syndrome, phlegm turbidity syndrome, and yang deficiency syndrome;(2)The TCM syndromes of patients with heart failure at different ages have different characteristics. With age,TCM syndromes are followed by Qi Deficiency Syndrome,Blood Stasis Syndrome,Shui Yin Syndrome,Turbid Syndrome, and Yang Deficiency Syndrome. The diagnosis of TCM syndromes is based on age.Have a certain reference value.
