Objective:To pay attention to the correlation between the alveolar bone morphology in the anterior teeth area and axis of incisor teeth of low-angle skeletal Class ?malocclusion for adults by using CBCT so that to provide a reference for further clinical diagnosis and treatment plan. Methods:There were 60 subjects in low-angle skeletal Class ? malocclusion with an average age of 23.12±3.16.While 20 subjects with normal occlusion individuals with an average age of 25.61±3.04.low-angle skeletal Class ? malocclusion was divided into three groups(lingual inclination, upright and labial inclination)according to the axis of incisor teeth.Images captured by CBCT to measure relevant data of the alveolar bone morphology in the anterior teeth area with Invivo5 software. On the front area of teeth respectively,no matter upper and lower.Data were processed with independent sample t-test and paired t test and single factor variance analysis and Pearson relativity by SPSS 24.0 software. Results:Study 11.The thickness of alveolar bone in upper anterior tooth area:(1)Comparison of the maxillary incisors items: the value of palatal alveolar bone and that of total apical alveolar bone the experimental group was found to be smaller than the control group, the difference is statistically significant(p < 0.05).(2)Comparison of lingual inclination, upright and labial inclination groups: At the positions of upper incisors and lateral incisors, the results of thickness of the top of palatal alveolar ridge crest, palatal middle of the root, labial and total apical alveolar bone were with significant difference. That of lingual inclination group displayed thinner than upright group and labial inclination group showed biggest value(p < 0.05).palatal and total apical alveolar bone were with significant difference. That of lingual inclination group displayed thicker than upright group and labial inclination group showed smallest value(p < 0.05).2.Bone attachment height in upper anterior tooth area:(1)For maxillary incisors and cuspid teeth: the labial and palatal distance between alveolar ridge crest and enamelo-enamel junction(CEJ)in the experimental group were higher than those of control group and the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05).(2)Comparison of lingual inclination, upright and labial inclination groups:At the positions of upper incisors and lateral incisors the labial and palatal distance between alveolar ridge crest and CEJ of lingual inclination group were lower than the results of upright group besides the labial inclination group indicated the highest value, which was statistically significant(p <0.05).3.The correlation between upper incisors and alveolar bone:There was a negative correlation between the thickness of palatal and total apical alveolar bone and the axis of upper incisors, and the negative correlation was observed(p < 0.05).However,there was a positive correlation between the distance between the labial distance between alveolar ridge crest and CEJ and the axis of incisor teeth(p < 0.05).Study 2:1.Thickness of alveolar bone in lower anterior teeth:(1)For mandibular incisors: the labial and total apical thickness of alveolar bone in the experimental group was found to be narrower than that of control group, the difference is statistically significant(p < 0.05).In mandibular canines: the labial thickness of apical alveolar bone in the experimental group was narrower than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05).(2)Comparison of lingual inclination, upright and labial inclination groups:For lower incisors the thickness of lingual alveolar ridge crest, lingual middle of the root and labial apical alveolar bone, lingual inclination group were thinner than upright group and labial inclination group showed the thickest value, and the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05).2.Attachment height of alveolar bone in lower anterior teeth:(1)At the positions of mandibular incisors and canines: the labial and palatal distances between alveolar ridge crest and CEJ the experimental group displayed higher than those of control group, with statistically significant difference(p < 0.05).(2)Comparison of lingual inclination, upright and labial inclination groups: For mandibular incisors and lateral incisors the labial distance between alveolar ridge crest and CEJ of lingual inclination group were lower than upright group and labial inclination group were highest, which was statistically significant(p < 0.05).On the area of mandibular canines: the labial distances between alveolar ridge crest and CEJ of lingual inclination group showed lower than that of upright group besides in labial inclination group it displayed the highest value and the difference was statistically significant(p< 0.05).2.The correlation between mandibular incisors and alveolar bone:It indicated a positive correlation between thickness of alveolar bone at the labial apical, the labial distances between alveolar ridge crest and CEJ and the axis of lower incisor teeth(p < 0.05).Conclusion:1.In this study it showed a significant correlation between the thickness and height of alveolar bone of incisors and the labial inclination for the adults of low-angle skeletal Class ? malocclusion while no correlation related to the thickness and height of alveolar bone of cuspid teeth.2.The thickness and height of alveolar bone in anterior teeth area of Adult low- angle skeletal Class?malocclusion were lower than that in the average cases.3.In the upper incisors, the palatal alveolar ridge crest?palatal middle of the root with lingual inclination was thinner than the labial inclination cases.palatal and total apical thickness of the alveolar bone of cases with lingual inclination was thicker than the labial inclination cases. In the lower incisors, the lingual alveolar ridge crest?lingual middle of the root?labial thickness of the apical alveolar bone with lingual inclination was thinner than the labial inclination cases.4.The height of labial and palatal alveolar bone of the upper incisors with labial inclination showed more absorbance than those of lingual inclination situation. As to the absorbance of labial alveolar bone height the labial inclination cases displayed more than lingual inclination.5.In the upper incisors, the palatal and total thickness of the apical alveolar bone and the height of the labial alveolar bone were decreased with the increase of the labial inclination. In the lower incisors, the height of the labial alveolar bone were decreased with the increase of the labial inclination which revealed the negative correlation. However the thickness of the labial apical alveolar bone was increased with the increase of the labial inclination that indicated the positive correlation.
