Reliability And Validity Study Of Chinese Version Of Reflective Functioning Questionary-8

Objective:To revise the Reflective Functioning Questionary-8(RFQ-8)and assess its reliability and validity in China.Methods:A Chinese version of Reflective Functioning Questionary-8 was established after translation,back-translation and cultural adaptation.Totally 635 students were selected as school group,filled the RFQ-8,TAS-20,MIS-BPD,FFMQ.75 patients with borderline personality trait who visited Department of Psychiatry in shengjing Hospital of China Medical University were selected as clinical group and completed the RFQ-8.44 students accepted the retest after three weeks.The coefficient of internal consistency,test-retest reliability,correlation analysis,t-test were investigated.All data were analyzed with SPSS 17.0 software.Results:The internal consistency for RFQ-C and RFQ-U were 0.673,0.514,the test-retest reliability were 0.686,0.538,respectively.The score of RFQ-C is significant negative correlated with the total score of TAS-20 and its subscales(P<0.01),positive correlated with the total score of FFMQ,description and action(P<0.01),negative correlated with the total score of MIS-BPD and its subscales.The score of RFQ-U is significant positive correlated with the total score of TAS-20 and its subscales(P<0.01),negative correlated with the total score of FFMQ,description,action and no-judge(P<0.01),positive correlated with the total score of MIS-BPD and its subscales(P<0.01).The correlations with TAS,FFMQ,MIS-BPD supported its validity.The RFQ-C,RFQ-U scores were different between school group and clinical group(P<0.01).The RFQ-C,RFQ-U scores were also different between urban group and rural group(P<0.01).Conclusion:In this study,the reliability and validity of the Chinese Version of RFQ-8 was examined.The results showed that,the RFQ-8 is a valid measure,and is applicable to assess the reflective function of adults in China.Future research should be done for its use in Chinese clinical samples.
