Objective: To estimate the reliability and validity of a semi- quantitativefood-frequency uestionnaire (SQFFQ) in adult women with Polycystic OvarySyndrome (PCOS) in ChengDu, China. Methods: A SQFFQ reproducetivefrom Chong qing City was used in the research. One hundred aged womenwere recruited. The validity of the SQFFQ was assessed by comparingnutrients intakes with those from a 3-day 24-hour food recall (SQFFQ1, 3-day24-hour food recall). Test-retest reliability was assessed in participants whohad completed the questionnaire twice 4 weeks apart (SQFFQ1, SQFFQ2).Correlation analysis between nutrients intakes derived from SQFFQ and 3-day food recall. Results: (1) Energy, protein, fat intakes in this sample are1887.59kcal, 65.25g, 85.37g, respectly, fat intakes are higher than theRecommended Dietary intakes (RNI) for 18-50 years old women China. (2)After log-transformed, Pearson correlation coefficients are from 0.12-0.69, theaverage of it and Pearson correlation coefficients of energy-adjusted, coefficient-adjusted, intra-class correlation coefficients (ICCs) for reliability ofSQFFQ and 3-day food recall are 0.35, 0.34, 0.40 and 0.32. Seventeen kindswere correlated with each other, the agreement was 77.3%. (3) The average ofPearson correlation coefficients, energy-adjusted, and intra- class correlationcoefficients (ICCs) after log-transformed for reliability of SQFFQ1 andSQFFQ2 are 0.66, 0.60, and 0.65. All 22 kinds of nutrine between 1st and 2ndSQFFQ were correlated significantly, the agreement was 100%. Conclusion:The validity and reproducibility of the SQFFQ were relatively high. Thequestionnaire used in the study about risk factor of diet in adult women withPolycystic Ovary Syndrome in ChengDu.
