Objective: After reviewing our hospital from January 1,2015 to December 31,2017 diagnosed as "patients with pheochromocytoma" cases. There are 82 patients with history of hypertension.Postoperative blood pressure did not recover to normal in 28 patients after surgery.Patients preoperative data were analyzed to explore the impact of postoperative blood pressure. Methods: All 82 patients underwent preoperative diagnosis of pheochromocytoma or highly suspected of pheochromocytoma, including 2 cases with surgical contraindications and 68 cases with laparoscopic pheochromocytoma resection. There are 4 cases with open excision of pheochromocytoma,7 cases with excision of lumbar adrenal pheochromocytoma, and 1 case with resection of peritoneal pheochromocytoma. All cases were fully preoperative prepared.Postoperative pathology confirmed that all surgical cases were pheochromocytoma. The average postoperative hospital stay was5.78 days. There were 28 patients with postoperative blood pressure?140/90 mmHg,3patients with blood pressure ?90 / 60 mmHg and the remaining cases with normal blood pressure. The patients with postoperative hypertension were followed up from 1 month to2 years,22 patients returned to normal,6 patients still with high blood pressure.Among them, there are 34(average age 48.5)males and 46 females(average age 50.3).Their average age is 49.5(21-71).There are 41 patients with pheochromocytoma on the left,38 patients on the right, and 1 patient on both sides. They were divided into 2 groups according to the disease duration. There are 46 cases with duration less than 2 years,and34 cases with duration over 2 years. They were divided into 2 groups according to the age. There are 57 cases with age less than 60 and 23 cases with age over 60.They were divided into 2 groups according to the operative duration. There are 52 cases with operative duration less than 120 min and 28 cases with operative duration over 120 min. They were divided into 2 groups according to the intraoperative systolic blood pressure. There are 59 cases with intraoperative systolic blood pressure less than 180 mmHg and 21 cases with intraoperative systolic blood pressure over 180 mmHg.The gender, age, tumor location, duration of hypertension, surgical procedures and the highest systolic bloodpressure in both groups were analyzed by univariate analysis and spss22.0 was used for statistical analysis. All the factors were tested by chi-square test. It's considered statistically significant when P is less than 0.05.There exists a significant difference between the two groups. Results: The percentage of the patients whose blood pressure did not reverse to normalization after pheochromocytoma surgery is 35%.Univariate comparison and analysis between the blood pressure non-recovery group and normal blood pressure group were conducted. The postoperative blood pressure of patients with pheochromocytoma had no correlation with age, sex, tumor location, surgical procedure and the highest intraoperative blood pressure, which was correlated with the course of hypertension. Conclusion: Hypertension duration is the main factor that result in blood pressure elevation of the patients after pheochromocytoma surgery.
