ObjectiveTo investigate the effect and significance of platelet parameters and hemorheology in children with Kawasaki disease(KD).Methods72 children with Kawasaki disease were collected and set up as KD group. The KD group was divided into acute and recovery stages according to the course of the disease, and coronary artery lesions(CAL)group(21 cases)and without coronary artery lesions(NCAL)group(51 cases)according to the echocardiographic results.20 normal children were enrolled as the control group. The blood of 72 children with KD were taken in the acute and convalescent period in the early morning. The blood of 20 normal children,on the empty stomach on the day of physical examination, were extractedl, injected into the early prepared vacuum sealed tube containing anticoagulant EDTA-K2.The plate parameters were promptly examined by a full automatic blood cell analyzer and hemorheological indexes were measured by automatic hemorrheology analyzer.Results(1)The four parameters of PLT,PCT,MPV and PDW were statistically significant among the acute period, the recovery period and the control group(P<0.05).The four parameters of PLT,PCT,MPV and PDW both in the acute phase and in the recovery period of the KD group were all higher than those of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).PLT and PCT in the acute phase were lower than those in the recovery period(P<0.05),and MPV and PDW in the acute stage were higher than those in the recovery period(P<0.05).(2)The parameters of PLT,PCT,MPV and PDW of the CAL group were higher than those of the NCAL group in the acute stage and recovery stage, with statistical significance(P<0.05).(3)The hemorheological indexes VB1,VB2,VP,HCT,EAI,EIR,ESR,ESR-Kin the acute phase of the KD group were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the acute phase,EDI of the KD group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The EDI in acute phase was lower than that in the recovery stage, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)The hemorheological indexes of VB1,VB2,VP,HCT,EAI,EIR,ESR and ESR-K of the CAL group were higher than those of the NCAL group in the acute and convalescent period(P<0.05),and the EDI of the CAL group were lower than that of the NCAL group in the acute and recovery period(P<0.05).ConclusionPlatelet parameters and hemorheology are closely related to coronary artery lesions in KD.The changes of hemorheological indexes should be monitored during the course of KD and the blood hypercoagulable state should be intervened early.
