Purpose: To investigate the changes of platelet parameters and prealbumin(PA)in children with Kawasaki disease(KD)at different stages of the disease and its possible significance.method :This study retrospectively analyzed 76 children diagnosed as KD disease in pediatric inpatient department of the Second Hospital of DaLian Medical University from January 2012 to June 2017.According to the results of echocardiography, divided into coronary artery expansion group(CAL)and non-coronary artery expansion group(NCAL).According to the time of onset, children were divided into acute group and convalescent group.Select the incidence of less than 1 week of new hospitalized children into the acute phase group.Recovery group is the children whose body temperature returned to normal for 5-7 days after giving high-dose gamma globulin treatment(the total duration of 2-3 weeks).Forty-five children with non-KD but upper respiratory tract infection and 45 healthy children were selected as control group. There was no difference in age,sex and body mass index between groups(P> 0.05).Peripheral venous whole blood was taken to measure platelet parameters and prealbumin(PA)in different stages of the disease with automatic blood analyzer. To exclude the influence of nutritional status on prealbumin(PA),albumin(ALB)was also measured in children. The chi-square test and t-test were used to compare the platelet parameters and PA between the above groups, and the correlation was analyzed.result :1.Compared with children in non-KD infection group and healthy group,PLT level in children with KD increased in acute phase; The PA in infected children and KD childrenwere significantly lower than those in healthy controls(P <0.05).There was no significant difference in MPV,P-LCR and PDW between the two groups(P> 0.05);2.The levels of MPV,PDW and P-LCR in children with KD in convalescence were lower than those in acute stage, while the levels of PLT and PA were higher than those in acute phase(P <0.05).3.There was no significant difference in PLT,MPV,PDW and P-LCR between CAL group and NCAL group whether in acute phase or in convalescence(P> 0.05).4.In the recovery period,PA increased significantly(P<0.05),ALB did not change significantly(P>0.05),so the effect of nutrition could be excluded.Conclusion:1.PLT levels were elevated in children with KD in the acute phase, but increased more significantly in the recovery phase.2.The inflammation in acute phase of children with KD stimulated platelet synthesis, platelet life span was prolonged in recovery phase, the volume became smaller, and the function was decreased. There was no difference between coronary artery expansion group and non-coronary artery expansion group.3.In the acute phase, there is a significant reduction in PA in children with KD.PA can be used as a sensitive reference for early diagnosis of KD.
