Effect Of Kangfuxin Liquid On MMP-2 And PGE₂ Levels In Gingival Crevicular Fluid Of Orthodontic Patients

Objective Kangfuxin liquid has been used to fight against the gingivitis suffered by the fixed orthodontic patients.MMP-2 and PGE2 contained in the gingival crevicular fluid have been tested,which can provide new treatment to the orthodontic patients.Each group was randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group with 50 cases.Select the teeth from Patient 11,16,21,26,31,36,41,and 46 as indexes;after having the complete cleaning treatment,the patient had been taught the right tooth brushing method while wearing the appliance.And then the patients would recieve the regular mouth care.For the patients in the experimental group,they also had Kangfuxin liquid besides the same treatment provided to the patients in the control group.They had Kangfuxin liquid 3 times a day,each time 10 ml for 5 minutes gargling after each meal.The patients in the two groups brushed their teeth with the same toothpaste,and they had been treated for 4 weeks.After the definite diagnosis and 4-week treatment,gingival crevicular fluid have been extracted and then MMP-2 and PGE2 have been tested.The treatement effect could be obtained through Periodontal probing diagnosis.The test data have been analyzed by SPSS 15.0.Results 1.Results of ELISA: Before the treatment,there was no significant difference between the control group and the experimental group(P>0.05).After the treatment,the compare difference between the two group is statistically significant(P<0.05),and the result of the experimental group shows the significant decrease.2.Results of periodontal probing diagnosis: Before the treatment,there was no significant difference between the control group and the experimental group(P>0.05).After the treatment,the difference of SBI between the two group is statistically significant(P<0.05).And the difference of PD between the two group is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Kangfuxin liquid can effectively suppress the expression of MMP-2 and PGE2 contained in the gingival crevicular fluid from the patients suffering from the gingivitis who get the fixed orthodontic treatment.Kangfuxin liquid can lower SBI and PD greatly,and can prevent and cure the gingivitis appearing in the fixed orthodontic treatment.
