Therapeutic Efficacy And Safety Of Deep Microwave In The Treatment Of Axillary Hyperhidrosis And Osmidrosis

Objectives:To evaluate the clinical efficacy,safety,histological changes and psychological status of microwave devices in the treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis and osmidrosis.Methods:This trial is a prospective,pathologic,self-controlled study.After a 5/5 energy treatment session,skin biopsy is used to observe histological changes before and after treatment.Also,Iodine starch test is used to determine the sweating range.Symptoms of improved efficacy were evaluated by using Hyperhidrosis Disease Severity Scale(HDSS);moreover,the Dermatologic Life Quality Index(DLQI)was used to assess the changes in life status.In the case of concurrence underarm odor,Odor-10 and Park grading were used to assess odor relief.The effect of odor on psychology was assessed by using psychological Symptom Check-List90(SCL-90).Observed in a year's time.Results:Twenty patients were observed.95%of the patients reached the axillary hyperhidrosis symptoms in the HDSS score decreased to lor 2 of the following main therapeutic end point(p<0.001).The effect of axillary hyperhidrosis on life treatment showed a 6-point decline in DLQI scores(P<0.001).;also,88.9%of axillaries odor decreased to at least 50%of the end point of treatment(p<0.001).The effect of underarm odor on the mental status(SCL-90 score)decreased from 113.5 to 94 before and after treatment,with significant differences(p<0.001).The iodine starch test showed that the region decreased 99%from baseline in 12 months of Follow-up and results were(p<0.001).Eight patients underwent histological examination willingly,their average light density of immunohistochemistry decreased from 1.04(0.4-2.11)to 0.07(0.04-0.46)(p<0.05).Immunohistochemical positive number for sweat glands is 104(59.75-132.5).After the procedure session,it is 41.5(29.75-62).There were no serious adverse reactions.Conclusion:The treatment of the device has high effectiveness,safety and short-lived adverse reactions.
