Expression Of CD47 In Gastric Cancer Tissues And Its Correlation With Clinicopathological Factors And Prognosis Of Gastric Cancer

Objective Preliminary study on the expression of CD47 in gastric cancer tissues,para-cancer tissues,and normal gastric tissues,and the correlation of CD47 expression with clinicopathological factors and prognosis of gastric cancer patients.Method Eighty patients with gastric cancer surgically treated in Chenzhou Hospital Affiliated to University of South China from January 1,2010 to January 1,2011 were selected as the research object.The specimens of gastric cancer,para-cancerous tissues(3-5 cm from the edge of the tumor)and normal tissues(more than 5 cm at the edge of the tumor)were collected and divided into three groups,80 cases in each group.Immunohistochemistry The above three organizations were detected CD47 expression.The data of 80 subjects(gender,age),clinical pathological data(location of canceration,size of cancer,differentiation of cancer,T and N staging,UICC staging)and follow-up data were collected.The relationship of CD47 and the clinicopathological factors and prognosis of patients with gastric cancer.In this study,all kinds of data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 software,the chi-square test was used to compare the count data,the median survival time and the survival rate were calculated by the productlimit method,and the survival curve was drawn,and Log-rank test was used to compare the survival rates between the two groups.Univariate analysis of factors affecting the prognosis of gastric cancer patients,and then further establish a Cox proportional hazards model for multivariate analysis,P <0.05 for the difference was statistically significant.Result CD47 mainly expressed on the cell membrane,the immunohistochemical staining site for the normal gastric cell membrane,gastric cancer cell membrane and gastric cancer cell debris,cytoplasm,no significant staining.The positive expression of CD47 in cancer cells,surrounding normal tissues and other normal tissues was 51.25%,28.75% and 23.75,respectively,with statistical significance(P <0.05).Further data analysis showed that the expression of CD47 was significantly correlated with N staging,T staging,tumor differentiation and UICC staging,but not with tumor location,tumor size,gender and age.Univariate analysis showed that CD47 overexpression,tumor differentiation,age,N stage,T stage and UICC stage were the factors influencing the poor prognosis of gastric cancer patients(P <0.05).Multivariate analysis of these adverse prognostic factors into the Cox proportional hazard model showed that CD47 positive expression and UICC stage was an independent risk factor for poor prognosis of gastric cancer.Conclusion 1.The expression of CD47 in gastric cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in para-gastric tissues and normal gastric tissues,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the expression of CD47 between para-gastric tissues and normal gastric tissues.2.The expression of CD47 was significantly associated with differentiation of gastric cancer,N stage,T stage,and UICC stage(P<0.05),but there was no significant correlation with tumor size,lesion location,age,and gender(P>0.05).3.CD47 positive expression,cancer differentiation,age,N stage,T stage,and UICC stage were all factors affecting the poor prognosis of gastric cancer patients.CD47 positive expression and UICC staging were independent risk factors for poor prognosis of gastric cancer patients.
