Investigation And Analysis Of TCM Physique Types And Related Factors In Patients With Nodular Goiter

ObjectiveThrough the investigation of TCM constitution types in patients with nodular goiter,the author has summarized the distribution characteristics of TCM constitution and its relationship with relevant factors for patients with nodular goiter,in order to discover the susceptibility constitution type when the patient is attacked and its connections with relevant factors,thus providing theoretical reference value for early prevention and individualized diagnosis and treatment of the nodular-goiter patient.MethodsThe clinical data of patients with nodular goiter diagnosed by histopathological examination were collected from May 2017 to March 2018 in the Department of Gastrointestinal Thyroid Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.On the basis of Professor Wang Yu's diagnostic criteria for physique ninth classification,the author has made a TCM constitution judgment to the subjects in investigation,collected and summarized the relevant data into an Excel-2003 worksheet,and then finished the data processing and analysis with proper statistical software.Results1.there are 94 subjects in the investigation from 22 to 69 years old,46.28±11.58 years old on average,with a male to female ratio of 1:5.3.The peak onset age is 30-59,accounting for 77.66% of the total cases(73/94).2.Among the 94 cases,most types of the patents' constitution were biased constitution,84 cases in total,accounting for 89.06%——28 cases with qi deficiency(29.79%),25 cases with qi stagnation(26.6%),16 cases with evidently yang deficiency(17.02%),7 cases(7.45%)with phlegm and dampness,3 cases with yin deficiency(3.19%),2 cases with damp-heat(2.13%)and blood stasis(2.13%)respectively,1 case with special tannins(1.06%)and 6 cases with pacifiers(6.38%).A small proportion of patients,who do not belong to any of the 9 constitutions,were categorized to the other constitution——4 cases,accounting for 4.26%.According to the total frequency of the constitutions,the constitution order from the most to the least is: Qi deficiency constitution 55 times(26.19%),qi stasis constitution 50 times(23.81%),phlegm and dampness constitution 30 times(14.29%),yang deficiency constitution 22 times(10.48%),blood stasis constitution 18 times(8.57%),yin deficiency constitution 10 times(4.76%),peace constitution 10 times(4.76%),damp heat constitution 9 times(4.29%),the other constitution 4 times(1.9%),special tannins constitution 2 times(0.95%).Among the 94 cases,Differences in gender,BMI,quality of sleep,dietary preference,emotional performance,life and work pressure have statistical significance to the patients' constitutions(p<0.05),but differences in occupation and exercise habit have no statistical significance to the patients' constitutions(p<0.05).Conclusions1.Nodular goiter occurs most in women aged 30-59 years.2.Most of the patients with nodular goiter have biased constitution,and people with Qi deficiency,qi stagnation and yang deficiency constitutions are mainly susceptible to nodular goiter.3.Differences in gender,BMI,quality of sleep,dietary preference,emotional performance,life and work pressure have statistical significance to the patients' constitutions.
