Psychosocial stigma has always existed in all countries and cultures all over the world,and has brought serious negative effects on individual development and psychological disease treatment and related groups.It causes public prejudice and discrimination against mental patients,which greatly affects the normal social life and work life of mental patients.When the patient points to the public's negative attitude and internalization,it produces self stigma,reduces the patient's help seeking hospital,and brings negative self cognition.Therefore,stigma and stigma intervention has always been an important topic in the field of mental health.Stigma intervention has made a lot of efforts and has made some progress,but it is far from being completely eliminated.Among them,education is the most commonly used means to reduce stigma,but researchers have not reached the same conclusion on the effect of educational intervention.The content of education may be one of the influencing factors.This paper introduces the core dimension of psychological disease concept-the reason of personal controllability and the severity of results,to explore the educational intervention effect and the mechanism behind the mental illness stigma.In Study one,experimental methods were used to study the relationship between the core dimensions of mental illness and the stigma,and whether controllability and severity had interaction with depressive stigma.The results showed that controllability and severity had an interactive effect on social distance in depressive stigma,and controllability was significant to fear,and severity was significant to the main effect of sympathy.Study two,use educational methods to intervene depressive stigma in college students,test the effect of education intervention,and explore the role of the core dimension of psychological disease concept.The results showed that educational intervention played a significant role in reducing social distance and enhancing sympathy.The mediator role between intervention and social distance is significant in individual controllable and severe items,and the intermediary role of expression of grotesque between intervention and fear is significant;and the intermediary role of individual influence is significant in intervention and sympathy.Finally,starting from the findings of this study,four targeted countermeasures for stigma intervention and mental health education for college students with mental illness were put forward.
