| Objective: In this study,the CBCT scan was performed on 83 children aged 6 to 12 in the mixed dentition stage,and the plaster model was made on the same day.The results of the digital model are compared with that of digital display vernier caliper.Cone beam CT measurement index of dental arch(dental arch perimeter,dental arch length,width of dental arch)feasibility,and application of CBCT in the children’s dental measurement and the other to provide the reference basis for the further application.Methods: Of 83 6 to 12 years old of children patients mixed dentition period film plaster model of CBCT images at the same time making the same day,measured with two methods respectively with dental arch index(AP,AW,AL),the results were analyzed.Results: 1.There was no statistically significant difference in the results of 16 indexes of the upper and lower mandibular arch in total 83 children using CBCT and gypsum model(P > 0.05).TheSpearman correlation test showed that the dental arch index of 16 items was stronglycorrelated(r>0.9).2.There was no statistically significant difference between the male andfemale groups after the group of 83 children were divided by gender(P > 0.05).3.After group of 83 children were grouped by age group,the results of the mixed dentition group and the mixed dentition group were not statistically different in the two methods(P > 0.05).Conclusion: 1.In mixed dentition period children,using cone beam CT multi-planar reconstruction under digital model computer software measurement and the traditional digital display vernier calipers measurement of superhard gypsum model mandibular dental arch with 16 indexes.2.The consistency of the dental arch indicators measured in both methods was not affected by the gender and age of the children in the mixed dentition period.3.In clinical work,took CBCT mixed dentition period for children can use the cone beam CT multi-planar reconstruction of digital model analysis to replace the traditionalgypsum model manual measurement analysis,not only can reduce to the status of the children patients for making the model is difficult to cooperate with the discomfort,relative plaster model is greatly save the storage space at the same time.Moreover CBCT on the digital model and the measurement result can be used as a children patients with similar traditional important clinical data of "gypsum deposit model",on the other hand these important data of CBCT and powerful image itself contains information can,in turn,help clinical analysis with index of dental arch and other possible hidden diseases,to assist the analysis of forming mechanism of malocclusion deformity,to provide evidence for making early occlusion induced strategy,provides the important reference for treatment plan. |
