Clinical Research Of "Spirit-regulation Formula" With Diarrhea Type Irritable Bowel Syndrome(Liver Stagnation And Spleen Deficiency)

ObjectiveA randomized control trial was to evaluate the clinical effect on Diarrhea Type Irritable Bowel Syndrome(liver stagnation and spleen deficiency)of“spirit-regulation formula” with acupuncture.Methods60 cases of patients with diagnosis of Diarrhea Type Irritable Bowel Syndrome(liver stagnation and spleen deficiency)were randomly divided into observation group and control group,each of 30 cases.The observation group was treated by “spirit-regulation formula” founded by Professor Zhang:sishencong(EX-HN1),shenting(GV24),yintang(GV29),neiguan(P6),hegu(LI4),tianshu(ST25),zhongwan(RN12),guanyuan(RN4),zusanli(ST36),sanyinjiao(SP6),taichong(LR3),while the control group was treated by the basic formula of acupuncture:tianshu(ST25),zusanli(ST36),shangjuxu(ST37),sanyinjiao(SP6),taichong(LR3),dachan gshu(BL25).The two groups were treated on each Monday,Wednesday and Friday,four week of a course.The Clinical Medical Syndrome Scores and IBS quality of life questionnaires(IBS-QOL)were used to evaluate the clinical effect.The above questionnaires were used before and after the treatment.ResultsThe study proved that,two therapeutic methods made great difference in reducing Clinical Medical Syndrome Scores and the spirit-regulation formula was better than the basic formula of acupuncture in improving abdominal distension and pain,diarrhea,chest pain and distension,borborygmus,stool mucus and emotional depression(P<0.05).The changes in IBS-QOL score gave the evidence that acupuncture can improves IBS patient in the aspects of dysphoria,interference withactivity,health worry and food avoidance,while the spirit-regulation formula was better than the basic formula of acupuncture(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation was 90.00%,while another was60.00%.There was significant difference between two groups(P<0.05).ConclusionThe two methods both had clinical efficacy,and the “spirit-regulation formula”with acupuncture is the better one.
