Clinical Research On Traditional Chinese Medical Administration Of EBV-positive People

ObjectiveThe study was aimed at investigating TCM features and related factors of EBV-positive People in Guangzhou,and building the database.Based on the theory of Preventive Treatment of Diseases,this study was also designed to determine the Chinese medicine effect of EBV carriers.MethodsEBV carriers without NPC were prospectively enrolled from Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Guangdong Province.Each subject completed the questionnaire,in addition to measurement of TCM constitution.About half of the patients received systematicTCM treatment and the others received TCM treatment(except for Herbal Paste)for 3 months.Levels and OD value of the EBV were evaluated before and after the treatment.Two researchers checked and entered the data in the software and used SPSS17.0 to finish statistical analysis.Results1.Among 50 EBV carriers in this study,the proportion of those aged 35 to 49 was as high as 43%.2.This study totally enrolled 50 subjects.Qi insufficiency constitution(15/50)and Yang insufficiency constitution(15/50)were the main TCM constitution of all the EBV-positive patients,while blood stasis(7/29)and dampness-heat(7/29)were common accompanied constitution.3.There were no significant difference in the levels and OD value of the EBV between experimental group and control group(P>0.05).Conclusion1.Most EBV carriers between ages of 35 to 49 might be more susceptible to EB virus.2.Qi insufficiency constitution and Yang insufficiency constitution might be the main TCM constitutions of the EBV-positive patients while blood stasis constitution and dampness-heat constitution could be common accompanied constitutions.3.TCM treatment may be feasible for EBV-positive patients,however,its therapeutic effect need further validation.
