Objective : Colorectal cancer is a malignant tumor that seriously threaten the health of the population. In China, the latest epidemiological survey shows that the incidence of colorectal cancer in Chinese men and women was 16.9 / 100,000 and 11.6 / 100,000 respectively. The mortality rates was 9.0 / 100,000 and 6.1 / 100 respectively, and the 5-year survival rate was only 32%,which was lower than that in the United States and Europe(64% and 41% respectively),and there is a trend of younger incidence recently.Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1(CEACAM1)is a kind of Ig-like membrane protein, which belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and can be widely detected on endotheliocyte, epithelia, tumor cells and so on.In this study,we explore the expression of CEACAM-1 and VEGF in colorectal cancer and the relationship with MVD.We were to determine whether they could be used as molecular markers for early diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Finally,we investigate the effect of CEACAM-1 and VEGF on the growth, evolution, invasion, metastasis and prognosis of colorectal tissue during the process of carcinogenesis, provide more data for the early diagnosis of clinical disease, the choice of treatment methods and prognostic judgement.Methods:100 paraffin-embeded samples documented by Zhangjiakou First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from January,2016 to January,2017 were reviewed. There were 50 cases of colorectal cancer and50 cases of normal colorectal tissue, all without any preoperative radiochemotherapy and immunotherapy. We detect the expression ofCEACAM-1,VEGF,and MVD by immunohistochemistry method, analyzing the relationship between the expression of CEACAM-1,VEGF and MVD.In addition.combined with the clinical and pathological factors such as tumor size(? 5cm and <5cm),depth of invasion, degree of differentiation,TNM stage, lymph node metastasis and presence or absence of liver metastasis in patients with colorectal cancer,we made comprehensive and detailed record.Statistical analyses were conducted by SPSS 17.0.Results : The positive expression of CEACAM-1 and VEGF in colorectal cancer tissues was 68.00%(34/50)and 60.00%(30/50),which were significantly higher than those 28.00%(14/50)and 22.00%(11/50)in normal tissues; The MVD value(16.13±2.18)in colorectal cancer tissues was obviously higher than that of normal tissue(5.11±1.25).The expressions of CEACAM-1,VEGF and MVD were all related to tumor serous membrane infiltration,TNM staging, vascular infiltration, lymph node metastasis and liver metastasis(P< 0.01);In colorectal cancer tissues, the MVD values in CEACAM-1 and VEGF positive groups(18.19±3.51 and 17.33±3.05)were significantly higher than the negative groups(10.13±3.50 and 10.08±3.11),P<0.001;The expression of CEACAM-1 and VEGF were positively correlated in colorectal cancer tissues(P< 0.01)..Conclusions:The high expression of CEACAM-1 and VEGF can induce the generation of tumor microvessels, which is closely related to the invasion and blood metastasis of colorectal cancer.CEACAM1 and VEGF may have a synergistic effect in promoting tumor angiogenesis. The joint detection of CEACAM-1,VEGF and MVD has important value and significance for early detection of tumors, tumor therapy and predicting the potential metastasis.are of great importance and significance.
