ObjectivesTo study the effect of directional traditional Chinese medicine therapy on the rapid recovery of knee joint function after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, and to provide a kind of effective and safe treatment after operation.MethodsA total of 60 patients who received the arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in the Department of Orthopedics of Dongguan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2016 to December 2017 were selected in this study. The patients were divided into 30 cases in the treatment group and 30 in the control group by the random digital table method. The two groups were given routine rehabilitation after operation, including oral celecoxib and postoperative functional exercise. On the basis of routine rehabilitation treatment in the treatment group, traditional Chinese medicine therapy was added. Two groups of patients were followed up before operation,2 weeks after operation and 4 weeks after operation. The recovery of knee joint function was evaluated by VAS score, knee joint function scale and Lysholm score introduced by Lysholm in 1962,and the data were analyzed statistically. Results?General data analysis:the difference of two groups of age,sex and course of disease was compared, and the results were not statistically significant(p>0.05).During the whole study, all the patients had no adverse events.?In terms of efficacy,in twelfth weeks after operation, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 92%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 75%.The difference of the total effective rate between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).? There was no statistically significant difference in the knee joint swelling and knee mobility between the two groups at 12 hours after operation(P>0.05),and the two groups were comparable. In the first, second, fourth week after operation, there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the knee joint swelling(P<0.05),and the treatment group was significantly better than the control group. In the eighth, twelfth week after operation, the swelling degree of the two groups basically subsided to the normal level. The difference was not obvious(P>0.05).In the first, second, fourth, eighth, twelfth week after operation, there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the ange of active movemen and passive movement of the knee(P<0.05).?Before operation, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the VAS scores(P>0.05),and the two groups were comparable. The difference of VAS scores between the two groups in the first, second week after operation was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the VAS score in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group. In the fourth, eighth, twelfth week after operation, there was no statistically significant difference in the VAS score between the two groups(P>0.05).?In the twelfth week after operation, there was no significant differencein the Lysholm scores between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05).The IKDC score of the two groups was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).ConclusionDirectional traditional Chinese medicine therapy has certain effect on rapid recovery of joint function after ACL reconstruction. The treatment can reduce the swelling of the knee joint, increase the activity of the knee joint, reduce the VAS score, and promote the recovery of the knee joint function. In addition, the therapy is an external treatment, which can reduce the irritation of oral drugs to gastrointestinal tract in clinical application, and it is safe and simple. It can increase the content of traditional Chinese medicine for postoperative rapid rehabilitation.
