ObjectiveIn order to provide some new ideas and reference for the diagnosis and treatment of sub-acute cough with traditional Chinese medicine, this research explore the distribution characteristics between physique and TCM syndrome in sub-acute cough patients and study the the relationship between physique and subacute cough.MethodThis research collected general information and Chinese medicine-related information on 60 sub-acute cough patients and conducted a qustionnaire about these patients' physique.Criteria of Physique classification invented by Wang qi and TCM syndrome standards were choosed in this research. The final data is sorted out using Excel to build a database, and SPSS18.0 was used for statistics. After data analysis and data collation, this research explore the correlation between physique and TCM syndrome in sub-acute cough patients.ResultsOf the 60 sub-acute cough patients,18 cases were normal constitution, accounting for 30.0%,while 42 cases were biased constitution, accounting for70.0%.The most commom in biased constitution are qi deficiency body(21.7%),yang deficiency body(13.3%),shire body(10.0%),phlegm-dampness body(10.0%).No correlation was found between constitution and sex in the incidence of sub-acute cough(P = 0.221> 0.05).However,physique and age are related to the incidence of sub-acute cough(P = 0.024 <0.05).PingHe body are the most common type in the population between 18-29 years old.Qi deficiency body was most common over 60 years old.The yang deficiency body and yin deficiency body were the most common in 30-39 years-old crowd,phlegm-dampness body common in people over the age of 50.However,ShiRe body and Qi stagnation body does not have significant difference in all age groups. Each types of constitution has difference in season(P=0.006 <0.05).PingHe body is most common in summer.Qi deficiency body is most common in winter.Yin deficiency body is most common in Autumn while phlegm-dampness body in summer and winter, shire body in summer.Yang deficiency body has no apparent seasonal. There was no statistical significance in the distribution of various constitutions and duration of disease(P = 0.213> 0.05).Among the 60 sub-acute cough patients, the most common syndromes are FengZaoShangFei syndrome(40.0%),FengShengLuanJi syndrome(21.7%).There was no statistical difference in both the degree of cough and the season of the disease between the various syndromes(P>0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the distribution of TCM syndromes of patients with subacute cough and each constitution.PingHe body,Qi deficiency bode and Yang deficiency body are vulnerable to wind invasion.FengHanXiFei syndrome,FengReFanFei syndrome,FengShengLuanJi syndrome was common in these people.TanShiYunFei syndrome,TanReYuFei are common in phlegm-dampness body.ShiRe body often associate with TanReYuFei syndrome. It also common in FengZaoFanFei.ConclusionIn patients with subacute cough, physique and TCM syndromes are closely related to each other.Physical type of sub-acute cough patients has a certain degree of susceptibility and tendencies to their TCM sydrome. For PingHe body people, the disease is easy to happen in summer.FengZaoShangFei syndrome is common in these people.Qi deficiency body,Yang deficiency body are easy to happen in Spring and Winter. These people are easier to be infected by Feng, sometimes with other disease factors.FengZaoShangFei syndrome,FengShengLuanJi syndrome,FengHanXiFei syndrome are common in these people.phlegm-dampness body, shiRe body are easy to happen in summer.TanShiYunFei syndrome,TanReYuFei are common.Yin deficiency body are easy to happen in Autumn.FengZaoShangFei syndrome is common in these people.
