Objective:To compare the difference between electric shears and harmonic scalpel in laparoscopic-assisted radical resection for rectal cancer(Dixon)and to discuss the application value of electric shears in laparoscopicassisted radical resection for rectal cancer. Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 121 patients who underwent radical resection for rectal cancer(Dixon)from October 2015 to January 2017 in the Department of General Surgery,Xinmin Branch of The China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University. There are 72 cases and 49 cases in electric shears group and harmonic scalpel group, both groups were successfully completed laparoscopic-assisted radical resection of the rectum(Dixon),no laparotomy.Compare the clinical parameters of the two groups, including age? sex?tumor size? TNM stage;the total operation time, total number of lymph node dissected, bleeding volume during operation;postoperative exhaust time, postoperative hospital stay, hospitalization costs, postoperative complications condition, postoperative survival rate and instrument repeat utilization rate of each group.Result:1.There was no significant difference in age, sex, tumor size and TNM staging between the two groups(all P> 0.05).2.There was no significant difference between the two groups in operation time, number of lymph node dissection and bleeding volume during operation(all P> 0.05)3.There was no significant difference between the two groups in postoperative exhaust time, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative complications(all P> 0.05).The electric shears group's hospitalization costs were lower than the harmonic scalpel group(P <0.05).12 cases in harmonic scalpel group and 8 cases in electric shears group were followed up for 1 year and there was no tumor recurrence or death case.Conclusion:1.The treatment effect of laparoscopic-assisted radical resection for rectal cancer(Dixon)in electric shears group and harmonic scalpel group is similar.2.The high instrument repeat utilization of electric shears is an advantage for its application in laparoscopic operation of primary hospital. It deserves to be promoted also for reducing the economic burden of patients and hospital consumables.
