Objective: To investigate the expression level of miR-11 in serum of patients with bronchial asthma and evaluate the diagnostic value of miR-11 for asthma.Methods: The expression levels of miR-11 in serum of asthma patients,allergic rhinitis(AR)patients,allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis(ABPA)patients and control group were detected by Quantitative real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).The expression levels of serum miR-11 in each group and control group were compared by unpaired t test or One-way ANOVA.The diagnostic value of serum miR-11 for bronchial asthma were evaluated by ROC curve.At the same time,the asthma patients were divided into several subgroups based on clinical data according to the severity of asthma,the clinical stage and the control level and the expression levels of miR-11 in sera of asthma patients of different subgroups were also analyzed.The levels of serum total IgE of asthma patients and control group were detected by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The diagnostic value of serum miR-11 combined with serum total IgE was analyzed by serial test and parallel test.Results: The levels of miR-11 in serum of asthma patients were elevated compared to the healthy controls.And its expression level was related with the severity of asthma,the clinical stage of asthma and whether the patient had ICS medication.Nevertheless,the level of serum miR-11 had no connection with the control level of asthma.Moreover,no significant differences were discovered between asthma patients who had a history of allergic rhinitis and those who were not.The sensitivity and specificity of serum miR-11 for asthma diagnosis were 83% and 68.2%.The sensitivity and specificity of serum miR-11 to diagnose severe asthma were 91.7% and 64.3%.In thesera of allergic rhinitis(AR)patients and allergic Bronchopulmonary aspergillosis(ABPA)patients,miR-11 was also significantly elevated.Conclusion: The expression levels of serum miR-11 in asthma patients are increased compared to healthy controls.And it may become a potential biological marker for asthma in the future.The diagnostic value of miR-11 for asthma will be further improved if combined with serum total IgE.
