Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Modified Qian Yan Dan in treating insomnia with Yang Deficiency and to explore a new method for treating insomnia under the guidance of Fu Yang Theory,so as to provide new ideas for clinical treatment of insomnia. Methods: Sixty patients with Yang deficiency insomnia were selected in the first encephalopathy clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Sixty subjects were randomly divided into treatment group(30 cases)and control group(30 cases). They were treated with Modified Qianyang Dan and Rituzopineol tablets. The course of treatment is 4 weeks. The changes of the patients before and after treatment were observed. The scores of PSQI(score of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index)and TCM symptom scores before and after treatment were recorded.Results:1.Comparison of clinical efficacy between the two groups: effective rate of 86.67% in the treatment group and 90% in the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The efficacy of the two groups was similar.2.The efficacy of TCM syndromes in the two groups was compared: the treatment group had an effective rate of 90%,and the control group had an effective rate of 76.67%.The TCM syndrome of the treatment group improved better than the control group. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05);The total scores and individual scores of TCM syndromes in the group decreased as compared with that before treatment. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total TCM syndrome scores and individual scores between the two groups after treatment were compared. All of them were superior to the control group and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The efficacy of sleep quality was compared between the two groups: the effective rate was 90% in the treatment group and 80% in the control group. The improvement in sleep quality was better in the treatment group than in the control group. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the total PSQI scores of the two groups were lower than before treatment. There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, the sleep quality, sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances, and daytime functional scores of the two groups were all better than those of the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The differences in sleep time and sleep time were compared between the two groups. No statistical significance(P>0.05).4.There were no adverse reactions in the two groups during the treatment period, and no abnormality in the safety index examination. Conclusion: Modified Qian Yang Dan has good clinical efficacy in treating yang deficiency and insufficiency, and can effectively improve the patients' TCM syndromes and sleep quality. The use of drugs is safe and no adverse reactions occur.
