Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignancies in the digestive tract.More than 600,000 people die from the disease each year in the world. The incidence ratio of males to females is approximately 1.6:1.In our country, the incidence of colorectal cancer is also increasing. At present, the main methods for treating colorectal cancer are three traditional methods of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The 5-year survival rate ranges from 90% in patients with stage I to 10% in patients with stage IV.In recent years, despite the rapid development of diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, colorectal cancer remains an important global clinical cause due to its high incidence and poor prognosis.Challenges, especially the emergence of multidrug resistance in chemotherapy for patients with advanced colorectal cancer, make it difficult to increase survival. Therefore,it is particularly important to actively search for new therapeutic methods and therapeutic targets.NR5A2,also known as LRH-1(The liver receptor homolog-1),is an important member of the nuclear receptor family. It is involved in the proliferation and metastasis of tumor cells. It is also involved in the process of cell cycle and apoptosis, and in the development and progression of various tumors.Studies have shown that LRH-1 is highly expressed in gastric cancer, colon cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and osteosarcoma, and plays an important role in the development of these tumors. However, the mechanisms of LRH-1 in the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer and its relationship with the prognosis of colon cancer patients are unclear,so we further explored LRH-1.The role played by the occurrence and development of colon cancer and its relationship with the prognosis of the patients provide a new basis for the early diagnosis, targeted therapy of colorectal cancer and improvement of the prognosis of the patients.Immunohistochemistry showed that the expression of LRH-1 in colorectal cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal tissues. The expression of LRH-1 was closely related to the depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, and clinical pathological stage of colorectal cancer.Follow-up included the five-year survival rate of the subjects found that the 5-year survival rate of patients with high expression of LRH-1 was significantly lower than that of patients with low expression of LRH-1.The expression of LRH-1 in colorectal cancer cells was detected by q-RT PCR and Western blot. The expression of LRH-1 was significantly higher in colorectal cancer tissues by q-RT PCR.In summary,LRH-1 is highly expressed in colorectal cancer and plays an important role in the development of colorectal cancer. It may be a new target for early diagnosis, targeted therapy of colorectal cancer and improvement of patient prognosis.
