Objective: This study aims to further observe the clinical effect of back-shu needle therapy in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, which is based on “ with yu/pivot regulating pivot”theory, and provides a clinical evidence for the treatment of this disease through external treatment of TCM,in order to explore a new way for gastroesophageal reflux disease. Methods: 60 cases of GERD patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into observation group and control group of 30 cases. The observation group was treated with back-shu needle therapy. The control group was treated with rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated capsules for 2 weeks. The reflux disease questionnaire(RDQ),gastroesophageal reflux disease scale(Gerd Q),gastroesophageal reflux disease quality of life self-rating scale(GERD-HRQL)were used to observe the symptoms of reflux symptoms;Zung anxiety self-rating scale(SAS),Zung Depressive Self-Rating Scale(SDS),and Sleep Status Self-Rating Scale(SRSS)were used to observe anxiety, depression, and sleep status.Dynamic electrocardiogram heart rate variability(HRV)was used to measure autonomic function. Results: 1.After treatment, the RDQ,Gerd Q,and GERD-HRQL scores of the observation group and the control group were lower than before treatment. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the observation group and the control group were effective for GERD treatment.2.After treatment, the observation group was markedly improved in 16 cases, effective in 11 cases, and invalid in 3 cases. In the control group,9 cases were markedly effective,11 cases were effective, and 10 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate was 89.9% in the observation group, and 66.7% in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group;3.Before treatment, the SAS,SDS and SRSS scores of the observation group and the control group were not statistically different(P>0.05).After treatment, there were statistically significant differences in SAS,SDS and SRSS scores between the two groups, indicating that the observation group was superior to the control group in relieving anxiety, depression and sleep problems in GERD patients(P<0.05);4.Before treatment, the observation group compared with the control group HRV:SDNN,SDANN and normal group, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).After treatment, there was no significant difference between the observation group and the normal group HRV:SDNN,SDANN(P>0.05).Observation group and control group HRV:SDNN,SDANN,the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05),indicating the presence autonomic dysfunction in patients with GERD,but the observation group had the effect of adjusting autonomic nerve function, but the control group had no such effect. Conclusion(s): 1.Back-shu needle therapy and rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated capsules are effective in clinical treatment of GERD,and can obviously improve the symptoms and quality of life of GERD patients;2.GERD patients are often accompanied by anxiety, depression and sleep problems.Back-shu needle therapy can relieve anxiety, depressive symptoms and sleep problems in patients with GERD.3.Autonomic dysfunction occurs in patients with GERD,and back-shu needle therapy can regulate autonomic function. It is further speculated that the back-yu therapy may through“with yu/pivot regulating pivot” adjusting the function of organs and meridians, thereby regulating autonomic function, promoting gastrointestinal motility, reducing acid reflux, and playing a role in the treatment of GERD;3.Back-shu needle therapy basing on “with yu/pivot regulating pivot” as a effective treatment of GERD is worth further researching and promoting.
