Objective:This study was designed to investigate the relationship between breast cancer-associated gene expression and postoperative and post-chemotherapy TCM syndromes and prognosis.Combined with objective quantitative indicators to explore the microscopic essence of breast cancer TCM syndrome differentiation for breast cancer TCM syndrome differentiation and prognosis of clinical research to provide a theoretical basis. Methods: In this study,we conducted a randomized and prospective and retrospective study of the patients from January 2007 to January 2017 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University(Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Hospital)Chinese medicine clinic and Jinan University Affiliated Jiangmen Wuyi Chinese Medicine Hospital Department of Oncology outpatient treatment of I-III breast cancer patients,a total of 110 cases. To collect the general information of patients and traditional Chinese medicine symptoms, pathological results,Immunohistochemical markers(ER,PR,HER-2,Ki-67,p53,E-cadherin)and so on.SPSS13.0statistical software was used to establish the database, and the TCM syndromes of breast cancer were analyzed. The correlation between molecular typing and other molecular markers and TCM syndromes and prognosis was analyzed by chi-square test, rank sum test,Log-rank test and other statistical methods. Results: 110 cases of breast cancer patients were women, aged 27 to 69 years, the average age of50.64±11.31 years old,41 to 50 age group of patients is the largest, accounting for 35.45%.Pathological type of invasive ductal carcinoma in 99 cases,is the most common(90.0%).Breast cancer postoperative syndrome in the liver and qi stagnation is the most common,68 cases, accounting for 61.8%;spleen deficiency phlegm syndrome in 21 cases,12 cases of qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,qi and blood deficiency in 9 cases. There was a correlation between the age of breast cancer patients and TCM syndromes(P <0.05).There was no correlation between the pathological type of breast cancer and TCM syndrome differentiation(P> 0.05).There was a correlation between the histological grade and the TCM syndromes of breast cancer(P <0.05).There was a correlation between the clinical stage of breast cancer and the TCM syndrome type(P <0.05).There was a correlation between TCM syndrome type and molecular typing in breast cancer(P <0.05).There was a correlation between p53 and postoperative TCM syndromes of breast cancer(P <0.05).There was a correlation between E-cadherin and TCM syndromes of breast cancer(P <0.05).There was a correlation between TCM syndromes and molecular typing after chemotherapy for breast cancer(P <0.05).There was a significantcorrelation between p53 and TCM syndromes after chemotherapy(P <0.05).There was a correlation between E-cadherin and TCM syndromes after chemotherapy(P <0.05).We conducted a follow-up study of 110 patients with breast cancer who had been included in this study for up to five years. There were 2 cases of recurrence and 11 cases of metastasis and no death. There were significant differences in recurrence and metastasis between the four TCM syndromes after chemotherapy(P <0.05).The tumor-free survival curves of four TCM syndromes after chemotherapy were statistically different(P <0.05).There were significant differences in recurrence and metastasis between four molecular types of breast cancer(P<0.05).The tumor-free survival curves of four molecular types of breast cancer were statistically different(P <0.05).There was a significant difference between the expression of p53 and recurrence and metastasis(P <0.05).The p53 and tumor-free survival curves of breast cancer were statistically different(P <0.05).There was a significant difference between E-cadherin and recurrence and metastasis in breast cancer(P <0.05).The tumor-free survival curves of E-cadherin expressed in breast cancer were statistically different(P <0.05).Conclusion: The age, histopathological grade, clinical stage, molecular typing,p53 expression,E-cadherin expression and postoperative TCM syndromes of breast cancer patients were correlated. There was no correlation between the pathologic type of breast cancer and TCM syndromes. The molecular classification, the expression of p53 and the expression of E-cadherin are related to the syndrome type of TCM after chemotherapy. In the aspect of prognosis,Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome after chemotherapy for breast cancer,Molecular classification, expression of p53,and expression of E-cadherin were correlated with Recurrence and metastasis rate,5-year disease-free survival rate.
