| Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics and outcomes of resectable breast cancer of different molecular subtypes in Uygur females. Methods:The data of 211 Uygur female patients with complete medical record, and initial diagnosis and surgical treatment in Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University between January 2008 and March 2010 were collected. The clinical features, recurrence, metastasis and survival of different breast cancer subtypes were analyzed. Results:Among the 211 patients,113 cases were luminal subtype,15 cases were luminal-HER-2 subtype,22 cases were HER-2-enriched subtype, and 51 cases were triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). In TNBC patients, age at onset equal to or less than 35 years were higher than those in patients of Luminal subtypes. In patients with recurrence and metastasis, the visceral metastasis was frequently seen in TNBC (24/61, 39.3%) and HER-2-enriched subtype (9/22,40.0%) cases. For patients of luminal subtype, luminal-HER-2 subtype, HER-2-enriched subtype and TNBC the 5-year overall survival rate was 81.5%,60.0%,68.2% and 68.9% respectively, and the 5-year disease-free survival rate was 77.6%,46.7%, 54.5% and 49.5% respectively.Univariate analysis showed age, operative methods, molecular subtypes, tumor size, axillary lymph node status, abortion ER and PR status were statistically related to OS; while age, molecular subtypes, pathological types, tumor size, axillary lymph node status, ER and PR status were statistically related to DFS. Multivariate analysis revealed that the tumor size, molecular classification and axillary lymph node status were the independent prognostic factors. All the differences had statistical significance (all P<0.05).Conclusion:Among Uygur female breast cancer patients, those with luminal subtype have a relatively good prognosis, while those with HER-2-enriched subtype,Luminal-HER-2 subtype and TNBC have an unfavorable outcome. |
