Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To contrast the osteogenesis effects of Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone and Xenogeneic Bovine Bone following tooth extraction.Methods: Central incisors were extracted on both side of the maxillary arch in nine rabbits.They were randomly divided into three groups,three in each group.There are two for experimental group and one for control group.In experimental groups,Xenogeneic Bovine Bone was applied in the left incisor socket,while the Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone was applied in right incisor socket.In control groups we only extract the teeth.After 4、8、12weeks,the rabbits were killed and the samples were evaluated by histoligical observation and the fluorescence staining.Results:1.Gross observation: 9 experimental animalswere normal.After two weeks,the wound had healed.2.Histoligical observation:Low power lens: Experimental groups: Xenogeneic Bovine Bone had more red osteoid andresidual bone fragments;Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone had more new bone and less residual bone fragments.Control groups: The alveolar socket is clear,showing a small amount of red osteoid formation around the alveolar socket.High power microscope: Experimental groups:There was a gap between Xenogeneic Bovine Bone and bone,the trabecular bone of Xenogeneic Bovine Bone was sparse and slender.The left sockets which was filled with Xenogeneic Bovine Bone had more woven boneand less lamellar bone than the right sockets which was filled with Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone;There were a lot of blue bone and red osteoid formation around the Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone.Control groups:There was red osteoid formation around the alveolar socket.3.Fluorescence observation:The distance of fluorescence band were:A:Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone(49.33±4.68)、Xenogeneic Bovine Bone(33.88 ±1.42)、Control group:(23.62±2.15);B:Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone(57.92±7.43)、Xenogeneic Bovine Bone(38.98±3.15)、Control group:(28.95±5.48);C:Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone(65.12±7.63)、Xenogeneic Bovine Bone(44.00±5.61)、Control group:(34.54±6.97).Conclusion:1.Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone and Xenogeneic Bovine Bone were both effective.2.For a bone grafting material,Processed autogenous tooth bone has more advantages than xenogeneic bovine bone in terms of bone increment.3.Processed Autogenous Tooth Bone used in the clinical repair of alveolar bone defect was of great significance.
