Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of moxibustion therapy intervention in the acute stage of Bell’s Palsy, compared with hormone, observe whether there are differences in efficacy,in order to explore whether moxibustion can be used as replacement therapy with hormone or with the use of hormone has a better synergy,to provide an alternative therapy for patients with limited use of hormone therapy, and to provide reference for the clinical treatment of patients with facial paralysis who can use hormone. Methods:This study included 102 patients in the acute stage of Bell’s palsy.Patients were randomly divided into Moxibustion group,Hormone group,Moxibustion combined with hormone group, the three groups were on the basis of acupuncture plus oral Mecobalamin Capsules.Among them,6 patients were removed,96 patients completed experiment and were analyzed. The patients were treated once every day,six times as a course, one day for rest between the courses, and totally four courses. After the second course of treatment, after the fourth course of treatment, during the follow-up period, the H-B(Overall Score),H-B(Regional Score),Facial Disability Index scale(FDI)were applied to evaluate the facial function.Results:1.The baseline of the three groups was in good condition, the grouping was balanced and the comparability was stronger(P>0.05).2.Comparison within groups:(1)Comparison of House-Brackmann(Overall Score)before and after treatment: After the second course of treatment, after the fourth course of treatment, during the follow-up period, the three groups were statistically significant compared with the initial diagnosis(P<0.0167).(2)Comparison of House-Brackmann(Regional Score)before and after treatment:(1)Comparison of H-B Regional Score: After the second course of treatment, after the fourth course of treatment, during the follow-up period, the three groups were statistically significant compared with the initial diagnosis(P<0.0167).(2)Comparison of the H-B local joint motion score:After the second course of treatment, after the fourth course of treatment, during the follow-up period, there was no significant difference between the three groups compared with the initial diagnosis(P>0.0167).(3)Comparison of FDI before and after treatment:(1)The physical function scores: After the second course of treatment, after the fourth course of treatment, during the follow-up period, the three groups were statistically significant compared with the initial diagnosis(P<0.0167).(2)The social function scores: Except the moxibustion group and Hormone group after the second course respectively with the initial was not statistically significant(P>0.0167),the rest were statistically significant(P<0.0167).3.Comparison among groups:(1)The three groups were compared with the House-Brackmann(Overall Score): After the second course of treatment, after the fourth course of treatment, during the follow-up period, there was a significant difference between the three groups(P<0.05);(2)The three groups were compared with the House-Brackmann(Regional Score):(1)Comparison of H-B Regional Score:After the fourth course of treatment, there were significant differences in the scores of forehead, cheek and mouth(P<0.05),and during the follow-up period there was a significant difference in the scores of mouth(P<0.05),and the rest were not statistically significant(P>0.05);(3)The three groups were compared with the FDI,there was a significant difference in social function scores after the second course of treatment(P<0.05),and the rest were not statistically significant(P>0.05).4.Curative effect:After the second course of treatment, after the fourth course of treatment, during the follow-up period, there was no significant difference between the three groups(P>0.05).Moxibustion group,Hormone group,Moxibustion combined with hormone group after the fourth course of treatment the total effective rate: 65.6%,66.7%,79.4%;during the follow-up period the total effective rate: 93.7%,90%,97.1%.Conclusions:1.Moxibustion therapy,Hormone therapy,Moxibustion combined with hormone therapy in the treatment of acute Bell’s palsy are effective.2.There was no significant difference between the therapeutic effect of moxibustion therapy and hormone therapy, moxibustion has preliminarily confirmed not to be inferior to the action of hormone, hormone replacement therapy can be used as a contraindication, recommend early use.3.Effects of hormone therapy combined with moxibustion has a better trend,in the absence of hormone contraindications, proposed joint use moxibustion and hormone.
