Objective: To investigate the difference of muscle status and normal population in patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome(PFPS)and its correlation with the Kujala Score. Methods: The 20 subjects who met the inclusion criteria were tested in the sports medicine Department of Sichuan Orthopaedic Hospital with Trigno Wireless EMG system-type Wireless telemetry surface EMG test for medial oblique muscle(VMO)and femoral muscle(VL)in a specific 5 squats,After smoothing the EMG signals in the middle 3 times, the difference of muscle state between VL patients and normal subjects was studied by observing and calculating the mean root value of VMO and VL EMG,VMO/VL average amplitude ratio,VMO and VMO reaction time,VL and PFPs peak time. The Knee function Score(Kujala)was evaluated in PFPS patients, and the correlation between the score and VMO/VL ratio was analyzed. Results: The VMO and VL of the right side of the pfps patients were significantly lower than those of the normal control group, and the VMO/VL RMS ratio was lower than that of normal group,PFPs group VMO and VL activation sequence were the opposite,TBP was significantly higher than the normal population group, and the independent T-test of the group. The differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).There was no significant difference in the surface EMG and VMO/VL RMS between the left(healthy)side of the pfps patients and the left side of the VMO and VL,and the independent T-Test between the groups. The difference was not statistically significant(p>0.05),while the left(healthy)side of the PFPs patients VMO and VL were activated in the same time sequence as the control group, but by contrast between the two groups, the left(healthy)side of the PFPs group was still lagging behind the VMO reaction, and the TBP was significantly higher than the normal control group, the independent T-Test between groups, the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).The ratio of VMO to VL in patients with PFPs was 0.70,the standard deviation was0.10,?TBP was 15.15,and the standard deviation was 4.88.The correlation analysis of VMO/VL ratio and Kujala score showed positive linear relationship. Conclusion 1.Compared with the healthy group of patients with PFPS,there were atrophy and muscle force decline in VMO and VL muscle, especially in the later stage.2.At the same time, the decrease of muscle strength of VMO and VL in patients with PFPs was not consistent,in which the degree of VMO atrophy was more obvious, and the muscle of this group should be trained in functional exercise;3.PFPS patients with lateral vmo reaction than normal group lag, suggesting that this group of muscle in the fatigue phase, muscle excitability is not high,in the rehabilitation training can be given specific treatment to relieve its fatigue;4.PFPS patients side of the disease will be affected heathly side,at this time the healthy side VMO has the recessive characteristic, the concrete embodiment in the health side VMO is in the muscle fatigue state,at this time should cause the attention, early treatment early training;5.PFPS in patients with VMO and VL ratio close to 0.70,TBP is 15.15,the data can be used for the evaluation of patients with muscle coordination reference.6.There was a positive linear relationship between VMO/VL ratio and Kujala score of knee function in PFPS patients, which suggested that the coordination of VMO and VL two muscle strength was related to the pain and dysfunction of PFPS patients.
