Objective Ovarian cancer is one of the common gynecological malignancies. Some studies have shown that spleen polypeptide injection has the effect of enhancing immunity and improving bone marrow suppression in chemotherapy of different cancers. This study was based on the self-controlled study to explore the effect of spleen polypeptide on the bone marrow suppression caused by chemotherapy in advanced ovarian cancer, and to provide evidences for clinical drug use. Methods 60 patients with advanced ovarian cancer admitted to the Department of Oncology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University were selected as samples in this study from November 1,2016 to July 1,2017,with the application of self control before-after trail method and three treatment cycles, including the first cycle of TC chemotherapy alone, the second and the third cycle of spleen polypeptide combined with TC chemotherapy, according to World Health Organization 1998 Evaluation Criteria for Acute Subacute Toxicity of Antitumor Tumor Drugs, the bone marrow suppression was divided into 0IV level, the occurrence of bone marrow suppression after each cycle was compared. Finally, the comparisons of the occurrence of bone marrow suppression after the treatment of each cycle were made and the changes of the mean value of WBC,N,PLT,RBC,Hb,AST,ALT,Cr and BUN were further analyzed.Results1.After the first cycle of chemotherapy,D7 reexamination of blood routine found that 23 people got the third level of bone marrow suppression,as well as 6 people got the forth level of bone marrow suppression. After the second cycle,D7 reexamination of blood routine after adding spleen polypeptide showed that only 3 people had the third level of bone marrow suppression, but no forth level of bone marrow suppression occurred. The third cycle continued to be added with spleen polypeptide injection, and no more than third level of bone marrow suppression occurred in patients. The incidence of bone marrow suppression was significantly lower in the second and third cycles than that in the first treatment cycle, with a difference of statistical significance?Pearson?2=63.052,P<0.001?,?Pearson?2=83.426,P<0.001?,but the difference between the second and third cycle was of no statistical significance?Pearson?2=3.064,P=0.132?.2.The average values of the observed indexes before and after treatment are as follows, the mean value of WBCwas?5.99,2.81?×109 L-1,?5.74,4.87?×109 L-11 and?5.78,6.0?×109 L-1,respectively.The mean value of N was?3.97,1.16?×109 L-1,?3.88,3.55?×109 L-11 and?3.84,4.45?×109 L-1,respectively.The mean value of PLT was?261.4,101.8?×109 L-1,?199.35,165.24?×109 L-1,?205.25,186.83?×109 L-1,respectively.RBC average change was?4.03,2.65?×1012 L-1,?3.98,3.92?×1012 L-11 and?4.06,4.83?×1012 L-1,respectively.The mean change of Hb was?132.7,89.3?g/L,?120.35,116.97?g/L and?120.93,123.14?g/L,respectively.The AST mean change was?23.12,89.15?U/L,?23.08,40.93?U/L and?22.55,26.6?U/L,respectively.The ALT mean change was?22.41,89.99?U/L,?25.82,37.32?U/L and?24.05,25.26?U/L,respectively.The Cr mean variation was?55.91,111.01?umol/L,?58.61,61.09?umol/L and?57.35,56.74?umol/L,respectively.The BUN mean variation was?5.38,8.36?mmol/L,?5.45,5.77?mmol/L and?5.68,5.63?mmol/L,respectively.The differences of the observed indexes before and after treatment in the first cycle were statistically significant?P<0.05?,which indicated that obvious bone marrow suppress had occurred. After addition of spleen polypeptide in the second cycle, there were not significant differences in N,RBC,Hb,and Cr compared with before treatment?P>0.05?,but other indicators had statistically significant differences before treatment?P<0.05?.In the third treatment cycle, the differences had no statistically significant?P>0.05?,indicating that there was no obvious bone marrow suppression occurred.Conclusions1.The combination of spleen polypeptide injection could improve the bone marrow suppression caused by TC chemotherapy of ovarian cancer.2.The multi-cycle continuous application of spleen polypeptide injection could protect and maintain hematopoietic function of bone marrow,to achive the effect of superimposed to improve the role of chemotherapy-induced bone marrow suppression.
