ObjectiveTo investigate the risk factors for skin plaque formation around the limb incision after unilateral total hip arthroplasty(THA).MethodsThis article included 105 patients undergoing unilateral total hip replacement at the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from February 2017 to August 2017.(Aseptic necrosis of femoral head in 93 cases, femoral neck fracture in 7 cases, developmental hip dislocation in 3 cases, hip osteoarthritis in 2 cases),There were 61 males and 44 females. The average body mass index(BMI)was(28±3.8),and the average age was(62.6±5.3)years.This retrospective study analyzed 11 clinical factors that may be related to the formation of skin freckle around the incision of the limb after THA.Among them, continuous variables include: age, duration of surgery, body mass index, duration of antithrombotic medication after surgery, preoperative and postoperative hemoglobin(Hb)volume. The categorical variables were gender, history of underlying diseases such as hypertension or diabetes, history of use of steroids, postoperative infusion of al ogeneic blood, and postoperative drainage of drainage tubes.Based on the presence or absence of ecchymosis on the skin around the incision in the affected limb,105 patients were divided into two groups. The x2 test compares categorical variables. The t test compares continuous variables. All variables were analyzed by using multivariate logistic regression.ResultsA total of 11 patients had ecchymosis around the incision of the affected limb. And most of them involved the skin around the lateral thigh incision. The incidence was 10.5%.Through comparative studies,it was found that postoperative drainage tube clipping affects the formation of skin freckle around the limb incision. The difference was statistically significant(x2 =4.322,P=0.022).Postoperative clipping of the drainage tube was a high-risk factor for the formation of freckle around the limb incision.(P<0.05).ConclusionThe clamping and drainage tube after unilateral total hip arthroplasty is a high risk factor for skin ecchymosis around the incision.
