OBJECTIVE: Analyzing and exploring the related clinical risk factors of deep vein thrombosis after total hip and knee arthroplasty.METHODS: The research objects were 444 cases of patients who underwent the total knee or hip arthroplasty in my department from May 2010 to May 2013. Before operation, detailed clinical information about the patients' medical history, signs and symptoms, and related clinical factors were collected. After operation, the patients were divided into DVT-positve and DVT-negative groups based on the result of color doppler ultrasonography, and the clinical factors were examined in order to analyze whether they had influences on DVT occurance after the surgery.RESULTS: After operation, 135 cases developed DVT, and this incidence is 30.4%. Through the single-factor ?2 experiment, it can be found that age, body mass index, drinking, varicose veins, VTE history, anesthetic techniques, and knee arthroplasty had great influences on the formation of deep vein thrombosis after artificial joint replacement(P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis of multiple factors indicated that patients' old age, obesity, general anesthesia and knee arthroplasty were the independent risk factors for the occurrence of DVT after total joint arthroplasty(P < 0.05).CONCLUSIONS: Patients' old age, obesity levels, knee arthroplasty, and general anesthesia were the major risk factors for DVT after total joint arthroplasty. Clinicians should treat it seriously and take preventive measures correspondingly and actively.
