Surgical Treatment Realization For Children With Primary Cardiac Tumors

Objective:Summarize the experience of diagnosis and treatment of primary cardiac tumors in children.Methods:From 2003 to 2017,we diagnosed 16 cases of primary cardiac tumor with concurrent operation,and retrospectively analyzed the age distribution,clinical manifestations,tumor locations,diagnoses,treatment,pathologic classifications and prognoses of these children.Results:There were 4 male and 12 female patients,aged from1.3m to12.5years.The clinical manifestations were chest tightness,shortness,In 14 cases,only one tumor were present,the other 2 cases were with multiple tumors.The tumors were located in left atrium in 4cases,left ventricle in 2 cases,right atrium in 4 cases,right ventricle in 4 cases,ventricular septal in 2 cases.The children in this group all got UCG,Among them,8 patients underwent cardiac MRI examination,1 routine CTA.According to the operation,12 cases of pediatric cardiac tumors were resected,3 cases were partially resected and 1 case underwent cardiac tumor biopsy.The results ofpostoperative pathology examination were as follows: 8 cases of Myxoma,fibroma of 3 cases,rhabdomyoma in 2 cases,infantile capillary hemangioma,lipoma,and lipoblastoma was separately in 1case.5 cases were missed,11 cases of children followed 3m~6y no recurrence or tumor continued to increase.Conclusion:Children's primary cardiac tumors are with atypical symptoms.They are clinical diagnosed numerously in the infant period.UCG can detect the lesions of children's primary cardiac tumors,some children need to take the heart MRI or CTA examination.The children with obvious symptoms should get timely surgery,the aim of the operation is to restore the normal hemodynamic state.Complete resection or partial resection should be chosen according to the location and size of the lesion.The treatment of children's primary cardiac tumors has a satisfactory effect.
