The Status Of Home Blood Pressure Measurement In Hypertensive Outpatients From Secondary Hospitals In Chongqing

Objectives Home blood pressure measurement rates and related factors were investigated in hypertensive outpatients from secondary hospitals in Chongqing,which would help to explore the strategy for improving control rate and prognosis of hypertension.Methods Convenience sampling method was used to collect cross-sectional questionnaires from the hypertensive outpatients who received treatments in 24 Chongqing secondary hospitals between June 2015 and December2015.Results The control rate of office blood pressure was 48.3%.The control rate of home blood pressure was 24% and the rate of home blood pressure measurement was 60.96%.Logistics regression analysis found that patients with high degree education,engaging in brainwork,undergoing weight control or insisting on regular follow-up were inclined to take home blood pressure measurement.It was also found that successful clinic blood pressure control,knowledge of hypertension,regular follow-up,perfect medical insurance and no drinking were related to better home blood pressure control.Conclusions Successful home blood pressurecontrol contributed to a better control rate of clinic blood pressure and the publicity and education of home blood pressure measurement still need to be strengthened in Chongqing.
