Objective: To investigate the status of patients' readiness for hospital discharge after lumbar spine surgery and to explore its influencing factors. Methods: Two hundred and ten patients who underwent lumbar surgery at spinal surgery department of the 3rd Hospital of Hebei Medical University from May 2017 to December 2017 were investigated.Date was collected by the general information questionnaire and the Readiness for Hospital Discharge Scale and the Quality of Discharge Teaching Scale, within 4 hours before discharge. The study was described to potential participants, who provided informed consent if they were willing to participate. The investigators need to respond objectively to the questions raised by the patients during the investigation.Apply the Excel for data inputting,SPSS21.0for statistical analysis and choose frequency, mean and standard deviation,x±s and so on for statistical description according to the types of data.Statistical analysis used independent samples t test,one-way ANOVA,nonparametric test(Kruskal-Wallis H test),Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis.Results:1.The total score of readiness for hospital discharge was 92.54±11.23,The average scores of each dimension of the degree of readiness for hospital discharge from high to low order were expected support, personal status and coping ability after discharge.2.The total score of the quality of discharge teaching was 213.89±13.44,The average scores of each dimension of the degree from high to low order were received content, needed content, teaching skill and effect.3.Single factor analysis of patients' score of readiness for hospitaldischarge after lumbar surgery, the results show that the gender, age, marital status, education level, lower limb muscle strength, disease duration, hospitalization time, hospitalization times, cause of discharge and complications for the its influencing factors(P < 0.05).4.There was a positive correlation between postoperative discharge readiness and quality of discharge guidance(r=0.568,P < 0.001),and all dimensions of discharge readiness were positively correlated with all dimensions of discharge guidance quality(P < 0.05).5.The multiple linear regression analysis revealed that the quality of discharge guidance, gender,Cause of discharge, complication, and Lower limb muscle strength were influencing factors of readiness for hospital discharge(P< 0.05).Conclusion: The level of discharge preparation of patients after lumbar surgery needs to be improved.Health care workers should provide specific interventions according to needs of patients, and develop a detailed rehabilitation plan and a diversified follow-up model,in order to improve the readiness for hospital discharge and promote patients' rehabilitation.
