Objective:To research the relationship between blood homocysteine level with carotid plaque and cardiac dysfunction in the elderly patients. It provides a basis for clinical treatment to reduce the concentration of homocysteine. Methods : A retrospective analysis of 270 patients ?60 years of age who were hospitalized in our geriatric cardiology ward from January 2015 to December 2016,all improved homocysteine, blood biochemistry, cardiac echocardiography,CT or brain magnetic resonance imaging, hepatobiliary and splenic ultrasonography and double carotid artery ultrasonography.Record the patient's age, gender, smoking history, with or without history of hypertension, with or without history of diabetes, with or without history of coronary heart disease.Measurement data with independent samples t test, count data expressed as a percentage and chi-square test.Logistic regression model was used to analyze the risk factors of carotid plaque and cardiac insufficiency. Results : A total of 270 study subjects, including 213 males(78.9%)and 57 females(21.1%).Between 60-98 years of age.The average age was 77.07 ± 10.93 years old.According to carotid artery Doppler ultrasound results were divided into carotid plaque group 205 cases, carotid artery normal group 65 cases.According to the patient's medical history and ultrasonographic results were divided into normal heart function group 178 cases and 92 cases of cardiac insufficiency group. There were significant differences between the two groups in age, smoking, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, serum uric acid, creatinine, homocysteine, hypertension and diabetes, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Plasma homocysteineconcentration in carotid plaque group was 14.29 ± 6.06 mmol / l;plasma homocysteine ??concentration in normal carotid artery group was 9.51 ± 3.86 mmol / l.The gender,ALT,AST between the two groups showed no significant difference(p>0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed age, smoking, and Hcy were risk factors for carotid plaque. There were significant differences between the two groups in age,ALT,creatinine, urine microalbuminuria, serum uric acid, homocysteine ??level, ejection fraction and coronary heart disease(p <0.05).No significant difference was found in gender, smoking, diabetes, hypertension, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, fasting blood glucose,AST between the two groups(p> 0.05).Plasma homocysteine ??concentration in cardiac dysfunction group was 15.46 ± 5.62 mmol / l;plasma homocysteine ??concentration in normal cardiac function group was 11.94 ±5.79 mmol / l.Logistic regression analysis showed age, homocysteine ??levels, coronary heart disease is a risk factor for heart failure. Conclusions: Age,smoking and homocysteine levels were risk factors for carotid plaque.Age,homocysteine level and coronary heart disease were the risk factors of heart failure.
