Preliminary Study On MR T2 Mapping Imaging Of Knee Cartilage Of Osteoarthritis In Type Of 2 Diabetic Patients | Posted on:2024-03-06 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:F Z Yao | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2544306932972719 | Subject:Imaging and nuclear medicine | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Objective:To preliminarily explore the effect of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)on articular cartilage of knee osteoarthritis(OA)based on the sequence of T2mapping.Materials and Methods:A total of 52 participants were recruited for the sequence of T2mapping.The subjects were divided into experimental group and control group.The experimental group was classified as group A of type 2 diabetic osteoarthritis(T2DM OA);and the control group was classified as group B of non-diabetic osteoarthritis(NDM OA).A total of 61 knee were enrolled in group A with 32 patients;and a total of 34 knees were enrolled in group B with 20 persons.Group A was divided into mild group(Ax1)and severe group(Ax2)according to whether there were diabetes related complications and basal insulin therapy,ther were 22 knees in Ax1,and 39 knees in Ax2.According to the course of the disease,≤10 years were classified as Ay1 and>10 years are classified as Ay2 group,ther were 37 knees in Ay1,and 24 knees in Ay2.Each subject’s cartilage was divided into five regions of interest(ROI)according to the medial and medial femoral condyle and the medial and medial tibial condyle and patella.The T2value of cartilage for each region of interest is defined as the average of the optimal cartilage display level and the most significant lesion level for each ROI.The final T2 value of patellar was defined as the average of medial and lateral surface of the patella.The optimal cartilage display layer was selected at the middle level of the articular cartilage;and the most significant lesion area level was selected,from the most serious grade of cartilage lesions.The cartilage T2 value of each region of interest was measured twice and averaged calculated.Results:(1)There were no significant differences between group A and group B in gender、age、BMI、smoking、drinking and hypertension(P>0.05).(2)The T2 value of each ROI in group A was not significantly correlated with age、BMI、gender、smoking、drinking and hypertension(P>0.05).(3)Compared with NDM OA,the T2value in T2DM OA was generally increased in the early cartilage grading group.The T2value of the medial tibial condyle in grade 0 was statistically different(P=0.008);the T2 value of the medial and lateral femoral condyle and the medial tibial condyle cartilage in gradeⅠwas statistically different(P=0.004、0.004、0.000);and the T2value of the medial and lateral femoral condyle、the medial and lateral tibial condyle cartilage in gradeⅡwas statistically different(P=0.027、0.003、0.007、0.010、0.005).The percentage of grade I in A group(43.9%)is higher than B group(42.9%).(4)The T2 values in Ax2 group were generally greater than those in Ax1,and the T2 values in the medial femoral condyle and the medial tibial condyle were statistically different(P=0.003、0.023).(5)When graded according to the course of the disease,the T2 values in the Ay2 group were greater than that in the Ay1 group,and the T2 value of the medial tibial condyle cartilage was statistically different(P=0.018).Conclusion:The sequence of T2 mapping is able to help assess knee OA by detecting the T2 value of the knee cartilage.Type 2 diabetes mellitus has an impact on knee cartilage degeneration,and the course of diabetes and the condition of blood glucose control are correlated with the degree of knee cartilage degeneration. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Diabetes, Knee joint, Cartilage, Magnetic resonance imaging, T2, mapping | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
