Objective To investigate whether real-time ultrasound elastography can evaluate the supraspinatus tendinopathy and find the relation ship with clinical data. Methods Twenty-seven injured supraspinatus tendon without tear tendon diagnosed by MRI and without calcification diagnosed by B-mode ultrasound and 20 healthy supraspinatus tendon of 20 healthy human were included in this study.Routine ultrasonography and elastic imaging were performed to assess whether there was a supraspinatus tendinopathy The strain rate ratio of the tendon was obtained by using the elastic imaging ultrasonography. The VAS score and quick DASH score were recorded respectively.Compare and analyze the data between the two sets of data. Results The strain rate ratio of supraspinatus tendon relative to bone tissue and soft tissue in the injure group was significantly higher than that in the health group,[(0.43±0.11?7.71±2.52)vs(0.13±0.03?2.63±0.57)],and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).The ROC curve was analyzed by a gold standard of MRI examination and clinical diagnosis, and the truncation value of the relative bone tissue and soft tissue strain rate was 5.32 and 0.35,respectively.The sensitivity and specificity of the RTSE strain ratio diagnosis and B-mode ultrasound diagnosis were not significant. The score of the Quick DASH score in the diseased group was 43.67±9.74.The Quick DASH score was correlated with the ratio of the relative strain rate of the bone tissue and the ratio of the relative deltoid strain rate(r = 0.44,r = 0.61),which was statistically significant(P<0.05,P<0.01).The VAS disease group score was 5.52±1.0.There was no statistically significant correlation between the VAS score and the relative bone tissue strain rate ratio and relative deltoid strain rate ratio. Conclusion Ultrasound elastography is a feasible and convenient method for assessing the supraspinatus tendinopathy without tearr. It can provides quantitative information about the tendons and provides a basis for clinical evaluation.
