Objective: To discuss the possibility, advantages and disadvantages, methods andaccuracy of surgery of neurosurgery by type-B ultrasonic real-time monitoring.Methods: The article had a retrospective analysis of20patients from theDepartment of Neurosurgery of the Center Hospital of the City of Dalian, who weretreated for their surgery by type-B ultrasonic real-time monitoring in October2010toOctober2011, and analytical studies were researched from the aspects of preparationsbefore the operation, the process, the results, the photos of type-B ultrasonic real-timemonitoring, and so on.Results: All the20operations were located completely accurately and clearedsuccessfully in the surgery.10cases in this group had total resection,6cases hadsubtotal resection, and4cases had partial resection. Neurological impairmentaggravated in2cases after the operation, but all return to normal function or thefunction before the surgery before discharged or discharged within one month after, theother cases remained fine. No significant complications, no operative mortality andpostoperative intracranial infection. Compared the photos of type-B ultrasonic real-timemonitoring and preoperative CT/MRI, except the type-B ultrasonic real-time monitoringof measured values is larger than the preoperative CT/MRI in glioma surgery, the lesionsize measurement and the display of the lesion, both are basically the same.Conclusion: The type-B ultrasonic real-time monitoring can localize the accurateposition of lesion epidurally or subdurally and is helpful in choosing the operationapproach. We can observe the range and the extent of resection in real-time. Thistechnology can decrease the side-effect to the largest extent. Surgery for neurosurgeryby type-B ultrasonic real-time monitoring have some advantages including security andnon-invasiveness, accurate positioning, simple operating, repeatable, convenience andlow price. So this equipment is beneficial for this kind of patients and surgery.
