Objective: The success of implant relies on enough bone and soft tissue.Scoket preservation emerged because of the unavoidable socket bone resorption after tooth extraction. It was found that the shape of autogenous dentin powder was very close to human bone tissue and contained a large number of BMP and hydroxyapatite, suggesting that it might better promote bone formation in socket. The clinical studies of autogenous dentin powder for site preservation are rarely. The autogenous dentin powder is extracted by the special tooth bone powder machine, which can break the extracted teeth into 300-1200 micron fine particles, then the powder is sterilized by a series of chemical methods. In this experiment,we observed the changes of the alveolar ridge in socket site after tooth extraction by comparing autogenous dentin powder, heterogenous decalcified bone matrix and natural socket,to evaluate the effect of autogenous dentin powder on site preservation. Methods: Select 40 sites of 35 patients whose teeth need to be extracted.Male and female are unlimited, aged 18-65 years. In the experiment,group1 were filled with autogenous dentin powder in sockets, and group2 were filled with heterogenous decalcified bone matrix, the control group were natural sockets. Before tooth extraction and 1,2,3,6 months after tooth extraction the plaster models and X-ray dental film were taken respectively, and the values of the height and width of alveolar ridge were measured and analyzed statistically. Results: The absorption values of alveolar ridge at each time point in both of the two experimental groups were smaller than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference between the two experimental groups. Conclusions: Autogenous dentin powder can be applied to the site preservation after tooth extraction, which can effectively reduce the absorption of alveolar bone and is an ideal material for bone filling.
