Objective:1.To analyze the characteristics of cognitive impairment in patients with epilepsy and its influencing factors.2.To explore the correlation between serum S100 B protein levels and cognitive function in epilepsy patients. Methods: The serum S100 B protein levels of 55 patients with epilepsy and 33 healthy controls were detected, and the Montreal Cognitive function scale(MoCA)was tested.According to MoCA scores, the epilepsy patients was divided into cognitive impairment epileptic group(< 26 points)and non-cognitive impairment epileptic group(> 26 points).Results:1.The MoCA scores of the cognitive impairment epileptic group is significantly lower than that of the non-cognitive impairment epileptic group and the healthy controls(P < 0.05).Compared with healthy controls, cognitive impairment epileptic group has poorer performance in visual space and execute ability?naming?delayed memory?language?attention and orientation(P < 0.05).2.There are significant differences in duration?the frequency of seizure?antiepileptic drugs(AED)numbers and the interictal epileptiform EEG discharges between cognitive impairment epileptic group and non-cognitive impairment epileptic group(P < 0.05).The Mo CA scores in epilepsy patients with impaired cognitive function was positively correlated with the duration of education, and was negatively correlated with duration ?the frequency of seizure and the numbers antiepileptic drugs.3.The concentration of S100 B protein in the group of healthy controls?non-cognitive impairment epileptic group and cognitive impairment epileptic group increased successively.4.Serum S100 B protein level was negatively correlated with the score of delayed memory and attention in cognitive impairment epileptic group.Conclusion:1.Cognitive function of patients with epilepsy is mainly impaired in the visual space and execute ability?attention?naming?delayed memory?language and orientation, and was related to the duration of education?duration?the frequency of seizure?the numbers of antiepileptic drugs and the interictal epileptiform EEG discharges.2.The serum S100 B protein level of epileptic patients was higher than that of healthy people, and was negatively correlated with delayed memory and attention.
