Objective: To summarize the progress of clinical treatment of Low-grade gliomas-related epilepsyContent: Epilepsy is a brain disease characterized by an enduring predisposition to generate epileptic seizures.Seizures are the most frequent presenting symptom in patients with low-grade gliomas(LGG).Low-grade gliomas-related epilepsy is defined as a history of one epileptic seizure with the presence of an enduring alteration in the brain(i.e.low-grade gliomas),and significantly influence quality of life if they are uncontrolled.Therefore,effective and reasonable anti-epileptic treatment is utmost importance in patients with low-grade glioma.Fortunately,with advances in medicine and technology,The anti-epileptic therapy has made considerable progress,and a proportion of patients have excellent seizure control with treatment of the tumor.Nevertheless,there is an important subset of patients that have seizures refractory to multiple agents and who require multidisciplinary care and interventions to optimize seizure control.This article reviews the domestic and foreign periodical magazines in recent years,and summarizes the progress of clinical treatment of Low-grade gliomas-related epilepsy.Methods and results: using the internet to find the domestic and foreign journals and databases related to treatment guidelines in recent years,with a careful summary and review.Conclusion: Seizures in low-grade glioma patients can be controlled by single agents in most cases,and new antiepileptic drugs have better clinical efficacy and tolerability than conventional drugs.Moreover,the progress and the comprehensive application of surgery,radiotherapy,chemotherapy and other treatments also significantly relieve seizures.
