Objective: Gout is the second most common metabolic disease, with its prevalence showing an upward trend in recent years globally. In line with the entire world, there has been a severe/wide spread of the disease in China, resulting in serious effects on the quality of people's lives, thereby causing a huge economic and social burden.Unhealthy lifestyle and the changes in dietary structure have played an important role in the pathogenesis of gout. So,this study examined the lifestyle and dietary conditions of outpatients of gout from three different hospitals respectively in Shenyang,to understand the correlated factors affecting gout patients in Liaoning province. We also explored the relationship between gout patients, lifestyles, dietary habits, food intake quantity and the incidence of gout,to provide some reasonable guidances for the prevention and control of gout. Methods: A case-control study was conducted,416 patients diagnosed with gout from the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology at the top three hospitals in three hospitals in Shenyang for five months from August 2017 to December 2017 were selected as the study subjects, and 416 healthy subjects in a hospital during the same period were selected as the control subjects. For all the subjects in this study, the investigators used a face-to-face questionnaire to ask questions and fill out the subjects' basic condition questionnaire, lifestyle questionnaire, and food frequency questionnaire. After all the survey datum have been checked carefully and verified unifiedly,a database was created by the Epidata 3.1 Chinese version software, the data was collated by two people and SPSS 19.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: 1.In this study, there were 416 patients in the study group, with an average age of 37.90±8.72 years old,and a control group of 416 people, with an average age of 40.44±8.77 years old. There was no significant difference between the two groups in age, gender, education level, occupation, and living area distribution, and they were comparable(P > 0.05).The income level of these two groups was also compared, and the proportion of high-income people in the case group was higher than in the control group (P<0.05).The proportion of gout family history in the case group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).2.The number of overweight and obese people in the case group was higher than that of the comparison group(P < 0.05).3.The results of single factor Logistic regression analysis of gout factors suggested that there were significant differences between BMI,exercise, drinking, drinking volume, regularity of three meals, and eating out frequency(P < 0.05).4.The results of dietary intake survey and analysis are as following:(1)The food intake of the case group was compared with the Recommended Nutrient Intake(RNI)in the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents(2016): The intakes of potatoes, vegetables, poultry, livestock, aquatic products among the patients in the case group were significantly higher than the recommended intakes, and the intake of fruits, milk, and dairy products was lower than the recommended intake.(2)The intake of alcohol and fruit juice in the case group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).(3)There was no significant difference in the intake of nutritional supplements between the two groups(P>0.05).(4)The multivariate Logistic regression analysis of the significant variables showed that family history, low water drinking, high frequency of eating out, increased intake of livestock meat, vegetables and aquatic products were the independent risk factors of gout. Conclusions: 1.Gout was affected by genetic factors,BMI,drinking, exercise time, water drinking, regularity of three meals and frequency of eating out, among them, family history, low water drinking, high frequency of eating out were the independent risk factors for gout.2.Dietary intake affects the occurrence of gout, and the intake of livestock and poultry, vegetables, and aquatic products were the independent risk factor for the occurrence of gout.
