Objective: We study the confidence interval of female breast symmetry and the factors affecting breast symmetry in Liaoshen region of China, and to provide data basis for breast symmetry evaluation for breast conserving surgery and breast reconstruction. Methods: We included 250 patients who were diagnosed with mammary hyperplasia in the breast surgery clinic of Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from March 2016 to December 2017.The information collected included age, nationality, living area, ancestral home, body mass index(height, weight),lactation, and the tendency of unilateral breast-feeding during lactation.Suppose that the related factors that affect breast symmetry and stratified the influencing factors(three factors and five levels),we should use orthogonal test to reduce the number of experiments and get the experimental group. The breast photos of the patients were collected and analyzed by computer software, and the 95% confidence interval of the breast symmetry was calculated. Results: In Liaoshen region of China, the 95% confidence interval CI of female breast symmetry is [88%-89%],which is the symmetry of the acceptable range;the median was 0.885.The minimum value of breast symmetry is 72%,the maximum value is 99%,?x±s 0.881±0.480.To determine the factors that affect the bilateral breast symmetry of the women. The reason for breast symmetry is not related to age and body mass index(P > 0.05).The main reason is breast-feeding time and whether it is highly related to unilateral lactation(P < 0.05).Conclusion: Age and body mass index had no significant effect on breast symmetry. The longer the breast-feeding time, the lower the symmetry of the breast. The more inclined to unilateral lactation, the lower the symmetry of the bilateral breasts.
