Passive Use Of Social Network Site And Suicidal Ideation In Middle School Students

With the continuous popularization of mobile devices such as smart phones,social networking sites have become an important tool and platform for people to communicate and maintain interpersonal relationships.The popularity and prevalence of social networking sites will have an impact on the mental development and social adaptation of adolescents.However,social networking sites cannot be said to be good or bad.The specific use behavior of social networking sites may be the key factor affecting individual psychology.Therefore,starting from this background,this study intends to explore the influence of passive social networking site behaviors on the use of social networking sites for junior high school students' suicidal ideation.At the same time,based on the research results of the mediating role of loneliness and optimistic protective effects,we will construct a There is an adjusted mediation model.The study hypothesizes that loneliness mediates the effects of passive social networking sites on suicidal ideation,and that this mediating effect can be regulated by the individual's optimism level in order to reveal the passive suicide social networking site's use of individual suicidal ideation.The impact and its mechanism of action.Passive social networking site questionnaires,the Lonely Emotional Experience Questionnaire,the Youth Suicide Ideas Questionnaire and the optimistic questionnaire were used to investigate 552 junior high school students.And use SPSS22.0,PROCESS plug-in and Mplus7.4 to analyze the data.The results showed that:(1)The use of passive social networking sites was positively correlated with loneliness and suicidal ideation.Loneliness was positively correlated with suicidal ideation and negatively correlated with optimism;suicidal ideation was significantly negatively correlated with optimism;(2)Passive socialization Website use has no direct predictive effect on suicidal ideation,but can predict suicidal ideation through the mediating role of loneliness;(3)Optimism can regulate the mediating effect of loneliness,compared to individuals with high optimism,loneliness The role of mediation is more pronounced in individuals with low levels of optimism.The results of the study will help reveal the impact of passive social networking sites on the suicide ideation of individuals and their mechanisms of action.This will have implications for improving the pertinence and effectiveness of the clinical interventions for suicidal ideation among teenagers.Finally,this paper discusses the deficiencies of this study,proposes further research ideas in the future,and proposes educational suggestions for junior high school students based on the behavior of social networking sites.
