Objectives The study aimed at clinical observation on the effect of extracorporeal shock wave on patella softening. Methods A randomized controlled method was used in this study. The patellae patients by the therapy of joint mobilization and joint mobilization combined with extracorporeal shock wave were as the research objectives from January 2015 to October 2017 in Qinhuangdao First Hospital outpatient rehabilitation department. The basic information of the patients was recorded, including sex, age, weight, and height. The 68 patients who met the above criteria were randomly divided into experimental group(34 cases)and control group(34 cases)according to the order of visiting time. The experimental group was treated with joint loosening and extracorporeal shock wave in the treatment of patellar softening. The control group only used joint loosening to treat patellar softening. The patients were scored based on the Lysholm(Appendix A)knee joint in before treatment,1 week after treatment and last treatment(4 weeks).Data analysis: Excel software was used to establish a database, statistical software SPSSl7.0 was used to statistical analysis of the gender, the average age(years),the Lysholm score comparison of before and after joint mobilization combined with extracorporeal shock wave therapy(experimental group),and joint mobilization therapy(control group),and as well as before and after treatment comparison in two groups according to the change of Lysholm score(sx ±).The count data were used the ?2 test, and the normal distribution measurement data were used t test. Results 1 68 cases were adopted in this study, and 34 cases were respectively in the experimental group and the control group. There was no significant difference between basic characteristics of the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).2 The scores of pain, swelling and claudication in the control group were statistically significant with the extension of treatment time(P<0.05).There was no difference between the scores of locking sensation, climbing stairs and squatting posture before and after 1 week of treatment, with no statistical significance(P>0.05).However,after 4 weeks of treatment, there was a difference between before treatment and 1 week after treatment, showing statistical significance(P<0.05).There was no difference in stability scores before treatment,1 week after treatment and 4 weeks after treatment, showing no statistical significance. There was no change between the time points and no statistical significance(P>0.05).3 With the extension of treatment time, pain, stability, locking sensation, swelling, claudication, climbing stairs, squatting posture and using support score were increased in the experimental group, and there were differences between different time points, with statistical significance(P<0.05).4 In terms of pain, locking sensation, claudication, climbing stairs and squatting posture, there was no statistically significant difference in pain scores between the experimental group and the control group before treatment(P>0.05).After 1 week of treatment and 4 weeks of treatment, the scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The stability score of the control group before treatment was higher than that of the experimental group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).With the extension of treatment time, the stability score of the experimental group was close to and higher than that of the control group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in swelling score between the experimental group and the control group before treatment(P>0.05),and the test group was higher than the control group after 1 week and 4 weeks after treatment, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in support score between the experimental group and the control group before treatment,1 week after treatment and 4 weeks after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusions 1 The treatment of joint loosening combined with extracorporeal shock wave was effective for the treatment of patellar softening with joint loosening.2 After one week of treatment, the curative effect was significantly better than that of the control group. After 4 weeks, the curative effect was much more significant.
